Patch 10.1.5 PTR - New Items, Returning Patterns and Plans from Naxxramas

Patch 10.1.5 PTR - Build 49516 New Items
Tons of new items have been added in the first PTR build of Patch 10.1.5. Highlights include a new Naaru Hearthstone toy, new mount rewards from Time Rifts, a bunch of Naxxramas related items, as well as the Corrupted Ashbringer quest item: "The Ashbringer has lived in both infamy and reverence. In the timeline this came from, it was never cleansed. It would be unwise to touch it directly."

While it is very unlikely for the Corrupted Ashbringer to make a return, the quest item could be associated or lead up to unlocking the new rewards from Naxxramas in Patch 10.1.5.

Completing the achievement Wards of the Dread Citadel will unlock ancient secrets (profession patterns, plans and more) within Naxxramas.

I pretty much agree. They're bringing back long lost items as either store rewards, amazon prime rewards, twitch drops, and trading post stuff. They may as well just use that one bronze dragonflight lady that lets you travel through time in certain zones and bring back vanilla wow and let us farm all the original stuff. Or just give us a vendor with no price on items.

I've been saying this ever since they put the first zone swap in. Old Vanilla content should've never been removed and if they wanted to update things (perfectly fine) put in a way to return to the old zones for those who want to farm things. That way those who want it can still spend the time doing it, or those who weren't playing the game at the time (not born, old enough, interested, etc).

I don't know, I wouldn't say it's "very unlikely" about bringing anything back. They've shown they're not holding much as sacred anymore.
They could introduce a slightly newer version of it, similar to the ret pally artifact appearance.

This seems like the likeliest option. Make a cosmetic-only version of the sword, add a Legacy Achievement for anyone who still has the original. Seems like a reasonable compromise to me.

Looks like alt catch up token to me, but slightly more difficult to turn into gear. Maybe because it's decent? This definitely gives us an incentive to run the dungeon more than a few times.

I wonder what the model will be then? The sets they had for the scourge invasions? (Pally T2 recolour for example)

This shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Ion specifically mentioned that they wanted to bring back legacy Naxxramas items in a somewhat recent interview.

That said, still excited to see it happening. There's a lot of brilliant looking models that were lost to the ether when Wrath launched.

As for the original crafted frost resistance gear, nothing was really lost for people who owned the original patterns.

The recipes all required materials from Naxx40 that have been unavailable since Wrath anyway. What's the point of having a rare recipe that you are unable to craft because the materials don't exist?

Reminds me that Blizzard still needs to make the anniversary world bosses skinnable so we can finally acquire the Dreamscales needed for Dreamscale Breastplate again.

I would love to actually see the atiesh questline and some others. An absolute shame that it got removed forever (the staff itself always looked kinda lame, I don't even want that...). I know classic exists, but I certainly don't love the idea enough to grind out naxxramas for half a year with 39 other people.
