according to reports, this will be the final season of house.
according to reports, this will be the final season of house.
I read the reasoning why and, though it saddens me to see my favorite series end, it makes sense. I hold no hard feelings to the House staff.
With Cuddy leaving before this season and Wilson leaving at the end of this one, it doesn't surprise me they aren't going to make it anymore.
I think it's about time. I haven't watched the series in years but from what I've gathered from promo ads, he's gone crazy like 11 times or something, hasn't he? They've kept the series on for too long, like The Office.
If they f*** up the ending to house I will talk about how I am going to march on fox HQ and demand a real ending. Honestly though Fox: DON'T MESS THIS UP!
the series just lost its way this season. at least it did for me, anyway
Good. It was a great show, it had it's time, now it must end. It should of ended last season anyway. This season is just pretty much milking it.

^Link for people that haven't gotten the news. Wonder if they'll kill House after all the times he 'almost" killed himself in the past 2-3 seasons.

Up to Season 6 was good (I'd argue the season 6 premier is in the top 10 of best television ever) but last season and this one...they weren't even the same show. I'm glad t see it ending, and I pray we don't get the American happy wrap up ending, that downward spiral is what House needs.
i bet it was lupus
Dammit, someone already mentioned lupus :C
I'll agree that last season was pretty meh (regarding the overarching story, individual episodes were still pretty good), with all the House-Cuddy relationship nonsense. Sure, it added depth to the character, but did it really have to go down that road? Eh... but I digress; differences of creative opinion and all.
This season started off pretty good though, and, while I'm kind of sad to hear this will be the last, it sounds fitting. Just as well, considering the twists and turns and the rollercoaster of emotional stability that Hugh Laurie's character has navigated over the years, both a complete burnout/death or a sombre "retirement" from medicine (e.g., he finally broke the rules a few too many times and stepped on a few too many toes that his license to practice medicine has been forcibly revoked) could work well -- both can have quite the emotional impact. My only "requirement" would be that the final episode is a 2-hour finale... it'd be the only way to give such a long-running show the proper closure, imo.
*shrug*
Either way, it was fun while it lasted. I can't wait to see what the cast and crew will do next.
I'd love a 2 hour series finale, it seems like they'll need more than an hour(plus commercials) to get all the things they plan on adding/bringing back for the finale. I think Hugh will take a break though, even though if and when he decides to star in another show/movie, we'll all just think he's House. ><
It's not a bad show, I've never watched it faithfully but I watch it here and there, but, like any show, it stops being original after a while and just gets old. It's had a long, successful run and it makes the most sense to me to let it die before going completely down the drainpipe and allow for something new.
Didn't bother watching this season when I found out Lisa Edelstein (Spelling) wasn't returning. Such a large character to the show with such a flimsy explanation was stupid.
I hope they do not kill him off. Please do not kill him off fox <.< That would completely ruin the series for me, unless I blank it out of my mind.
Don't call it canceled. State that it's ending or in it's final season.
There is a different connotation of the phrases. Canceled makes it seem like it's just going to end and disappear. If they know ahead of time it's the final season, they can write a proper ending for the show, versus slapping one together when they find out halfway through the season that they're canceled.
