It's a great idea, but they need to get it to work great to be a success.

I feel like the people who are against it want the game to be more like a single player RPG. I view this change as a breath of life into the old game and significantly improving the MMO factor of the game that has been waning for a while now. While there are fewer reasons to group up at the lower levels nowadays, just having people there will make all the zones feel more alive. Maybe they will even bring group quests back in response to this feature, or create more low level scenarios to fill that gap in. My guess is that somewhere down the line, Blizzard will make grouping up at low levels worthwhile either through new features or new rewards for doing so.
This has a lot of potential to push the boundaries into a single-server MMO realm! /tinfoilhat
Yes and no.
I dislike being in heavily crowded area, but prefer to play with my friend(s) or Guild.
As I already play on High populated server, I don't have any problems with the population.
If you ask from me, Blizzard should have just merged some of the dead or dying servers instead of messing up with current living ones.
Yes, I am serious.... lol?
The WoW levelling game has not required players to interact in a very long time.
The obvious function of such a feature is give ultra-casual players who know each other in real life a way to interact, which promotes retention among extremely casual/social players.

How exactly does it make life better on low populated server(s)?
So... pretty much it feels like Real-ID -system, but soon you can make a group and go camp Alliance/Horde -players in the World.Originally Posted by Blizzard Entertainment
Meh... I want an option to toggle Cross-realm zones off.
Technically I would not say that wow is dead because they got rid of some of the servers. Quite a few of the low pop servers are low pop because people decided to leave them for a medium/high population. The servers are dying because their community is lacking in numbers and people want more people around. Those that stay in low pop dont want to have to fight for nodes or spawns. Or that they prefer to know just about everyone.
Also once you find this zone and it does not restrict what level people are to be in the cross realm i bet that level 90s will hunt down the huge amount of low levels from other servers there. Or that everyone will end up saying hey lets all go to <name zone here> and have a party fest of lag.

If they bring back elite quests this is a good idea. If they make it to where people need to group up to finish quest lines that is. Otherwise I am taking a wait and see position because there as others have said is a whole can of worms that can and probably go wrong with this idea
It's almost moot now as I have every class at a high level now. But if I choose to roll another level 1, there will at least be people to run into who I can quest with, or kill. Hopefully this will help instill more world PvP when out doing our dailies. With the intro of this tech, I hope they bring back open world group areas such as Stromgarde.
there world is absolutely barren due to their poor game design, this will make it seem like a world of warcraft now. just makes me sad im not on a pvp server for this

I'll be interested to see how this will work with Tol Barad / Wintergrasp!
Also. I'm sitting on the fence with this one!

I like it. Probably not gonna suck too much when it comes to gathering, cause I would imagine people will stay on their own server. If that's how it works?

love it coz i love ganking;p
only real group quests are in outlands tho
Nothing wrong with it, It can breath life into well dead zones in most cases which by all means good mind you.
Yes. And if you don't like it, get used to it. This is the way WoW and newer MMOs are moving towards.
And this isn't really about 'group quests'. This is about the world feeling 'alive' again.
I agree with what some people have said.. the leveling experience now is almost like a single player RPG and this idea will make it feel more like an MMORPG.
