Please tell me this games get better passed the skeleton king

Ok i got the guest pass and i followed the pre determined route that everyone takes to checkpoints, killed whatever was in front of me...So i killed skeleton king and i have to say i am not impressed with this game at all. Im wondering if it gets alot better?, as of now i cant justify $50 to buy the game. THis seems like someone could of put this game together in 1 week. There is No such thing as exploring, the terrain and map don't allow you to get lost and explore or take another route. There is only one way to get from point A to point B. Im just wondering if this game gets better?

Just cause you chose not to explore doesn't mean there isn't exploring? Maybe the content is different for the guess pass, I hear it's what the beta was, I did not play the beta so I don't know exactly what it is. But in the release there's plenty of exploring to do there are dungeons around the map in most places. Maybe you just don't like this type of game...

To me it is fun, but maybe this is not your kind of game. You will either like it or not. Don't look for people to convince you to buy it. Look at what you think you will enjoy.

There is tons of exploring. I still haven't gotten all of the exploration achievements that I need because the maps change each playthrough. The exploration is there, but if you ignore it then it's not going to seem that way. :P But, in my opinion, yes, it gets a LOT better after Skeleton King. Maybe it's because I played through it like five times during the beta, but it started getting more challenging after that, and I liked it quite a lot. If it's not your type of game, it's not your type of game, though.

the outside areas of the game are not randomly constructed, only what monters , what events and what dungeons appear in the area are random

its only inside dungeons that are constructed are completely random and gives you that "lost" feeling. tbh i think the first part of the first act isnt the best way to show the trial version of the game, everything gets 10 times better past the skeleton king and 100 times better past the first act

Don't buy it. Definitely not the game for you.
The night is dark and full of terrors...

    It doesn't.

Also, there's no way I'm ever going to see Inferno mode because there isn't a snowball's chance in hell I'm going to force myself to play through that same boring content two more times.

If you get off the road and actually check around the zones instead of going straight from point A to point B you'd see there are plenty of side dungeons for you to explore and events to do. That's what exploration is.

I don't know what you're talking about. My partner and I explore every inch of every map. Yes, in the end you still have to go the only way down to the next area, but there are dozens of dungeons to explore on the way, some with multiple levels. If you explore each map, you will regularly find events, like the Jar of Souls, which requires you to survive waves of skeletons, two different events where a ghost asks you to either slay her undead family or bury their bones, a bunch of "survive the attack" waves that recount the history of battles fought, and dozens of books with lore and clues to hidden treasures. That's just what I've found so far by level 15. There are hundreds more surprises to uncover as we continue playing.

Diablo III is a click grinder. Its not about exploring. Its about killing bazillions of mobs.

It's kind of funny watching how modern gamers are reacting to the old school playstyle Diablo 3 is basically forcing them into, with actual difficulty and far less handholding then most recent games have. It's making their heads explode.

Try playing the game first before you make a complete fool out of yourself.

D3 holds your hand the entire way.

You do realize your playing Diablo, a hack and slash RPG?

This post is written as someone who was expecting an MMO, if you want to play an MMO there are alot of choices out there.
If you want to kill hordes of monsters solo or with a few friends while gaining loot along the way, Diablo is your game.

The game is "repetitive" but it is also dynamic in certain ways and is very well done.

Well worth the 60 bucks IMO.
