Poll: Do you Support Assault Weapons Ban?

Hey guys I heard we shouldn't make laws because some people might break them.

    And the compelling retorts continue.

That has yet to be proven.

    At least they're not dead.
Depends on the caliber and shot placement. It's completely plausible for someone to hit 2/6 shots and the intruder/assailant isn't down. If they can't reload or are out of ammo they're fucked. Two shots from a 9 to center mass isn't a guaranteed kill. I don't want to make it harder for good people to defend themselves. This isn't Hollywood.

Federal laws extend up to importing and exporting. Transporting across international and local lines is in no way comparable.

Considering the reason for making gun laws is to punish those who are already breaking the law, most proposed gun legislation is ridiculous.

Why the fuck are we talking about killing in a defense post?

Hey guys, lets further restrict Constitutional rights based on conjecture and paranoia, and go against statistics and evidence! Let's enact another 10 year "assault weapon" ban, just because it didn't work last time doesn't mean it won't work this time!

Most gun ownership is more ridiculous. Of course I'm just responding to your subjective opinion with my own.

No but they help prevent local criminals from obtaining "illegal" guns legally. Obviously.

I see a 'well regulated' part, and I see an 'arms' part, but no part about guns.

When there is already a law in place why do we need another law about the same thing?

I thought paranoia was the core behind "defensive" gun ownership anyway.

And don't know that well-regulated is talking about training, not restrictions. Despite it coming up every...I dunno, 50-100 pages

How do they do this, exactly?

INB4 someone says "Dry up the supply, that'll fix it!"

...300 million guns are already in private hands.

Yes because the rash of gun violence (there was only another school shooting today) is merely paranoia.

Because you don't shoot to injure

You don't shoot unless you expect to kill someone (I hope) or are prepared to do so.

A small dose of paranoia is healthy.
