BoA book would solve the issue. it's a shame blizz listened to the "we hatez flying" mini-crowd in cata.
Warlorcs of Draenorc made me quit. You can't have my stuff.
No. A thousand times no. I leveled up two alts trough Pandaria and I still would not like to see lowbie characters fly.
Even if that means my other 4 characters have to walk until reaching lvl90
Also, I had to click [View post] because I ignored you from posts before.
Now I remember exactly why I put you there.
Pandaland is pretty much the only place in many years I just want to get over with. I've reached 87 and the lore does not interest me at all. Worst quest must've been the "Lorewalker" dude that talks to you for 10-15 mins about something that could've been pulled out of a disney movie.
given blizzards recent posts on their feelings on the state of flying mounts and the fact the new zone is a no fly zone i'm expecting flying pre 90 in mop content to come about the same time they adjust the leveling curve for 85-90. meaning next expansion.
Its a good point you make. People should be allowed to buy flying if they already once leveled up to 90 without flying. I leveled up my main on a PvP realm during the release of MoP. There was epic world PvP going on. But now, with the amount of level 90s versus the lack of people who are of my level, I'd rather have the ability to fly around at level 85.
Appeal to authority. Yawn.
If flying mounts were allowed, no one would use a ground mount. My aim is to level up as quickly as possible with the current restrictions - if flying was allowed then flying would be the quickest therefore no one would ever use a ground mount.
Not allowing flying mounts forces us to see the content from a different, more dangerous, perspective. Its good design and one that most people like (From what I have seen at least)
It's Blizzard's world, you have no rights. That's not snark, it's just the truth. The sooner you accept it, the happier you'll be with the game. If something seriously upsets you, you can offer feedback (Here's a hint: Talking to people with respect will go a long way to being taken seriously), or you can stop giving them your money.
Yes please. I do want this. I whole heartily disagree that questing from the ground is objectively better. In fact my first time through BC when I got the flying mount immediately upon entering Outland was when I quested the absolute most. Without flying mounts I do as much as I need to move onto the next zone then GTFO as quickly as I can. Hell most of the time I prefer to just do dungeons all the way to 90 because running around everywhere is such a miserable experience.
Leveling via ground mount is perfectly fine.
Stop Whining!
I agreed. Being on my 4'th alt to 90 now, we should definitely be allowed to purchase a "Tome of Pandaren flying".
I had an alt of every class at level 85. I have leveled 3 to 90 at this point. The last one, I hit 90 just after hitting the Krasarang Zone (due to running dungeons and doing daily cooking/farming/fish turn-ins). As an experiment, I have continued to level that toon through all the zones just to see how flying affected the experience. I would say I got no more or no less out of the experience, other than the fact that several of the quests were bugged if you were on a flying mount that wasn't on the ground. Things like all the escort quests, and scripted scenarios.
Unfortunately, flying is this expansion's "casual epics" as in it's the thing vocal players love to hate. For some reason, Blizzard is also seeming to follow this line of thinking.
Flying only takes away what you want it to, IMO. If you want to walk across the continent on all your alts, there is nothing stopping you from doing so. Apparently just having the ability to fly is now bad - even if you've already leveled multiple alts. Go figure.
I don't think flight is truly necessary in Pandaria while leveling (except maybe trying to do Dread Wastes pre-90, some of those areas are a pain in the you know what XD - but then that's why I don't touch DW on most alts til I hit 90 lol) but I still wouldn't mind maybe seeing them add in a BoA flight book for people who, say, have the "Level 5 different classes to the level cap" achievement. By that point, I think you've seen Pandaria from the ground enough times that you can take a few shortcuts to get the rest of your alts to 90, imo.
Flying mounts ruin the game... why make it easier? Why take away the world PvP? "Oh look, it's an alliance, lets kill him... he's 1000 feet above us." So the only world PvP left is me having to camp quest zones where people have to dismount to kill something. Then they turn around and call me an asshole, but hey, I need my world PvP and it's the only option.
Most likely the wisest Enhancement Shaman.
