    Final Fantasy VII-IX Remake Wants

I picked up Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD at the launch event on Saturday. The areas that are pre-rendered look wonderful, as does the rest of the game.

I've always thought that VII was preventing the development of any of the PSOne Final Fantasy remakes because of its massive following. However, after seeing the pre-rendered backgrounds in FFX HD, I would be content with re-mastered versions of the PSOne games with HD backgrounds and HD character models. I don't believe a full blown AAA remake would be necessary.

What would you want out of VII, VIII, and/or IX remake?

Nah, I actually just finished VII again on my Vita and still really enjoyed it as is. Graphics were never really a selling point for the series (strictly my opinion) and I think people prefer the story and combat system. While I enjoyed my latest playthrough the combat system really is antiquated.

That being said I think X was chosen because it will never be available except for the PS2 and if they are going to remake another they said it will be XII (hopefully the Zodiac job version) for the same reason.

I think I'd be down with the games getting the same HD treatment that FFX has gotten (it doesn't come out til the 20th for me, such a long wait! ARGH!)

With 7, it'd be nice to have newer chibby models for the map and some cleaned up better looking models for combat and spell effects and the like, basically the same game, just prettied up a lot.

more that updated graphics, what i would really appreciate is voice acting for those games.

If they tried to update the graphics and then add voice actors into FFVII, I think I might projectile vomit all over my playstation/tv.

Graphics, I dunno. Apparently theres heaps of fan updates to the PC version of FF7 and people seem to like those, don't see why the pro at Square couldn't do better.

Agree on voice acting tho: DO NOT WANT (Unless it was already there in which case keep it. But don't add acting to games that didn't used to have it. Those characters have voices, and they be the ones I imagine as I read the text thankyouverymuch)

I would love an FF12 HD remaster as it's one of my favorite in the series. So jelly that you got your copy of FFX already though =/ gotta wait till tomorrow here. Thinking of replaying ffx-2 first though as I recently replayed ffx and I haven't x-2 since...8 years ago at least. As for 7-9? I'd like 9 if any of those to get a treatment but honestly I would hope they keep the same style of graphics and just spruce it up a bit.

Speaking of remakes though. I would LOVE a Xenosaga trilogy remaster.

I would appreciate a remake. But no changes to actual gameplay, just better graphics and voice acting maybe. But I don't necessarily need those.

FF12 is fantastically beautiful as it is. The only way I would imagine a remake working well is if they use the unreleased international version that had a lot of changes to make the game more fun.

Only after they give FFVI a 3DS remake along the lines of the FF3/4 ones (albeit with better graphics, since the 3DS is far more powerful than the DS was) shall I get behind them making a FFVII, FFVIII, and FFIX remake. I mean....who WOULDN'T want to see Sabin suplex a train in glorious 3D?

I don't see HD remakes as necessary, because you can still play the old games - they're not going anywhere. But if they remade VII-IX, in addition to updated graphics I'd like to see additional optional bosses and perhaps a hard mode.

i believe they said the reason they refuse to do that is because they're basically admitting that FFVII can't be topped if they were to remake it instead of making a brand new game.

FFVII was already topped...by its predecessor.
I like FFVII and rank it as my second favorite of the series, but Cloud was one of the dullest main characters in any game. His supporting characters were far more likable than he was. Which is why I enjoy FFVI so much: there really isn't a set main character. There's about 10 characters all focused on and equally as important (one of which can suplex a train to death. You can't get any more manly and awesome than that), and a villian who actually suceeds. Sephiroth was a crazy, and destroyed a city with Meteor before it was stopped (as well as unleashed the Weapons, but a few Knights of the Round casts takes care of those :P ), and when you consider that city was Midgar and it was a city that was bleeding the planet dry of it's life source it's almost like he did the world a favor in the end. Kefka, on the other hand, was batshit insane, achieved literal godhood and DESTROYED THE WORLD before he could be stopped (and the world slowly heals afterwards, but would be permanently changed).

I just want FF12 available on PS3 or PS4( Even if they just release it as a PS2 Classics download.)...since my PS2 broke and I only ever got to play the game for a couple hours. Not long enough to really give it any sort of judgement on whether or not I like it or not....but I was actually enjoying the new combat system it used.

FF12 was really bad at that. The worst offender being the Zodiac Spear, which you could only get if you didn't open a set of specific treasure chests throughout the game.

I never understood the need for remakes in the first place. The games are fine as is. I'd rather companies spend that time making something new instead.

And FF12 would be even more beautiful rendered in the 900p that KH1.5 and FFX-X2 Hd are in.

Also the FFX and KH 1.5 hd remakes where the bonus content versions that only Japan got so obviously the 12 HD port would be as well.

I'm kinda torn on this. I love FFVIII and a part of me would love to see it with really good graphics and voiceacting, but I'm also afraid they would mess things up. I mean Squall looks so weird in the Dissidia games. Maybe the voice acting would be half-assed or even worse, maybe they would actually change some of the story/dailogue or whatever, especially since it is a FF game you either seem to love or hate. Who knows what they would do to it to make it "better" in their eyes

So if it's only updating the graphics but still have the same designs and everyone look like themselves and not change the story in anyway then sure I would love it! They could even do some changes to the junction system and that would be fine(allthough I would want to keep the fighting turnbased!).
However, if they changed things around and made it into a different game then no thanks

I guess the same goes for FFVII and FFIX to some point but I'm not that attached to those games. Also FFVII already have so many extra games and films and who knows what so I don't really think they could ruin it more FFIX has a very unique and fun art style, so again, aslong as they keep the overall feel and story I think it could be fun to see.

Ew.. why on earth would you want that to ruin these games? Go back to playing FF13 lol

I would kill for an FFIX HD.

Lol Blitzball was fucking atrocious but tetra master? easy... (if you mean ff9)

Hardware becomes inaccessible. Technology becomes available to upgrade art assets. Just like movies.

I think the only thing I would want added is a new game + feature. Remakes of gems always makes me apprehensive that they would screw up a good thing.
