Holy Paladin Hidden Artifact Skins

I see we have two separate threads for the Ret hidden skins as well as one for the Prot hidden skin, but I couldn't seem to find one specifically for Holy Paladins so I'll go ahead and create this here.

I'm seeing 2 hidden skin variants for Holy Paladins.

EDIT: I missed the Dev Q&A about artifacts and was unaware that Justice's Flame is not a hidden skin but will be released at a later time
The 1st being Jutice's Flame


and the 2nd being Watcher's Armament.



Now I have not been able to find any information on where Justice's Flame might even begin to come from so I'll stay focused on Watcher's Armament.

Originally this was thought to be a random drop from killing demons in Falonaar, however this does not seem to be the case anymore based on a GM ticket response which stated,

I understand that you're looking for information regarding one of the hidden appearances for your artifact. While things did indeed drop differently in Beta, that is indeed the point of Beta, to test things.

WoWhead's information is most likely incorrect, hidden appearances have their own methods of being unlocked, they do not simply drop.

I'm sad to say due to the hidden nature of this item, I am not able to provide hints as to how to acquire it.

I will however wish you the best of luck in your search."

So now it seems that finding this skin may be back to ground zero.
I figured this would be a good place to consolidate any thoughts / avenues that have been attempted to locate how to unlock this skin plus add any updates there may be for figuring out where Justice's Flame comes from.

Here is a list of a few things a fellow player has tried in attempt to locate the new whereabouts of the Lost edict of the watchers item.

okay so i tried everything in my might to find this weapon, let me show you what i learned and researched so far:

1. In reinhardt's lore he went together with his friend brigitte, in surama is a girl named brigitte... no interactions.

2. when winston recalled overwatch, reinhards location is shown in southwest, like faronaar, where the weapon drobbed in the beta.... didnt find anything at all.

3. i went so far to go and farmed myself the bottomfeeder mount to be faster underwater and went ahead and scouted the whole broken isle ocean bit by bit, i found some pretty neat stuff wich does not tie in with the holy hidden skin.

- theres a salty kraken on various locations wich had lvl 99, 103,104, 105, they dont have any interactions and not even a dying animation, but the level scaling seems wierdly off. nothing i could do with them sadly.

- in stormheim on the far northeast where the broken statue of the watcher is (location of one of the orbs to summon roshamul? (forgot the name its the jellyfishmount boss), is a huge stone head face down in the sand, for me it looks a bit like reinhards hair, its a bit farfetched but theres also a armor piece engaved in the huge stone that looks clearly like metal armor, altough i couldnt find anything else except another salty kraken near it might just be part of the jellyfishmount orb statue that flew way far off.

- theres a lot of teethless white sharks around showing off hidden locations and secrets but only one showed the entrace of a cave for the jellyfishboss mount, the otherones seem unfinished....

- found multiple eastereggs like 2x titanic references, a lot of wierd broken temples among other things, strongly doubt they are related to the edict.

4. I tried to check every bit of black rook hold since its apperently the only medieval kind of castle around and reinhard is a german medieval themed knight.
found nothing,

- i didnt checked the dungeon inside, maybe a clue inside the dungeon.... doubt it tho.

5. i checked whole isnland of the watcher, i found some owl statues you can activate and they seem wierd, had to trigger them in certain order to activate a few, but do the fact that reinhard has nothing todo with anykind of owls and i guess its for these shadowsong guys...

6. while deeper into the lore of reinhard, he is named reinhardt wilhelm and theres a paladin that lies defeated in the paladin class hall, he has an ugly hammer but could be a clue... one thing is wierd he seems to somehow gain HP back.... i dont know how but it only wentz from 1% to 12%...

7. Ra-den, secret boss of throne of thunder resembles reinhard quiet a bit, even got his scar, mirrowed on the other eye... could not kill him do a bug and it did not open for me in this ID :/ (strongly doubt they go back to old content for it tho.

8. The lost edict of the watcher was drobbed in faronaar so i strongly believe it was some kind of hint by blizzard to let us search there, theres even a paladin quest line that failed where you rescue one of your followers, searched everywhere (again)... nothing.

9. I killed 12000 demons as holy (gs 840 so it was a bit easier), no drob, maybe its locked behind a certain amount of demons.

10. I found a cave underwater wich is sealed, they reused the big cave entrance a lot so i spotted it after my second swim around the broken isle. my friend gliched in with his demonhunter jump ability, theres a camp and a lot of murlocs spawn named "underlight angler" wich is the same name for the artifakt fishing rod, no drobs or anything related.

conclusion:

i really think its either a bug, not available yet, strongly out of context hidden or simply a raid drob like the shaman set in a raid prior. There are no lion themed buildings, statues or graves. I searched all the oceans and above ground for dragon skeletons to find any indication for a hammer or a questline, nothing.

what i find dissapointing the most is actually theres tons of shipwrecks and secret caves wich are empty, i mean they put so much effort in decoration the oceans, even hidden caves are empty.

I hope this helps you a little bit, i mean you dont have to search the whole ocean now...

will keep you updated if i find something.

The watchers aramament is our hidden artifact skin. The flame one is a skin that will come in at a later time (most likely 7.1). Every class has that 5th artifact skin that isn't in yet and won't be until later. They said this in the Dev Q&A about artifacts.

Yes I was unaware that Justice's Flame was meant to be a regular "not hidden" skin to be released later. Edited the post above to reflect that.

I'm going to keep following the battle.net posts to see what else is being tried to find out where Watcher's armament comes from, but I figured I'd make a post here on MMO champ since Holy seemed to be lacking one compared to the other spec hidden skin threads.

Consensus, as I understand it, is that most or all of the skins that dropped off random demons in Faronaar (there were a couple IIRC, not just Holy Paladin) in Beta were placeholders for more complex or hidden sources on live.

well, the only hint is the Quote of a text passage from the Reinhard comic "DRAGONSLAYER" from the flavor text of the Lost Edicts of the Watcher.


"We have sworn to restore hope to this troubled world. To seek out tyranny and evil wherever they take root... and bring the hammer of justice down upon the wicked."

Maybe it has something to do with Nithogg, one of the world bosses in Stormheim? The journal description says that he rebelled against the other dragons and left the brood to terrorize the land with his brood.

There is also a book item marked with the color of an artifact related galakrond


Galakrond was a huge protodrake in northend who fed on every other living being.
He was slayed by the dragon aspects and TYR HIMSELF.

There is also a Quest Item called "The False Keeper". In its Tooltip it says "Researched historical accounts about the events surrounding Loken's betrayal of his fellow keepers, by historian Llore."
WoWDB says the item is found in Black Rook Hold after the first Boss.

Found a few more tomes on a reddit thred...
we maybe have to collect them all to get the skin but no drop source.

My oppinion is that they could drop from the world bosses.

Just went to Black Rook Hold, but no sign of a Tome anywhere there. Maybe we need a Quest for this?

The Item itself is in the game but you cant buy it. It was sold by an NPC in Booty Bay who got removed.
Thats why you have a sell price on this item only.

Maybe we have to do something with Evelyna and Llore, the authors of most of these books.

They are standing around one of the graveyards on the Timeless Isle, if I recall correctly. They gave the lore trivia quests in MoP.

okay, i fount the two npc's readded in patch 7.0.3 but without location at wowhead

They are both on the Timeless Isle. Already was there, but no new Interactions possible with them. Only the quest from evelyna and some random smalltalk with Llore. I think this might be a step in the quest chain we have to do later.

In a few hours i get AK Level 4, i will try again then. I tried a few things, but nothing got me on the right trail.

Well, talking to all 3 NPCs, doing the trivia quest and using Tyr's Deliverance in front of them did nothing (at AK 4).

so we have to wait untill Tuesday(US)/wednesday(EU) to see if the skis is related to raid/world bosses ....
or untill someone gets AK 5 since this gived us the 3rd part of the Artifact story in the big orderhall book ^^

I'm on AK 4 right now and it'll be done pretty soon.

I killed nithogg as holy and nothing happened. No drops (aside from actual loot), nothing related to the artifact.

It could be related to AK. The ret one is. That's fine though I just wanna know how to get ours honestly.

a guild mate of mine (assa rouge) got his at the same spot it droppe on beta today but he needed ak 4...
maybe ours is the same at faronar^^

i'm at ak 4 and omw to clear faronar to test this ^^
