As a new player, would it be bad to skip all the side quests and just stick to the MSQ? Would I miss out on something important?

Quests with some sort of unlockable will look different than just generic side quests



If you do the MSQ and hit the ones that look like this, you shouldn't miss anything other than story. You can always come back and do the other side quests on other classes and reap the XP.

While there are a few sidequests out there (not key quests like above) that have rewards beyond XP, gear and story/lore, you're not really gonna miss anything major, some emotes and some pets are acquired in this way.

Which can be done on alt classes or breezed through if on main anyways
