That article really buries the lede. The funding is being given to the program to promote students learning a foreign language. The first item in the letter sent to UNC/Duke, but only shows up all the way at the bottom of the article notes: "The consortium enrolls 960 students in Middle East language courses out of 6,791 students in the overall Middle East studies program". The government grant money isn't being used for what it's supposed to be. I'd suggest actually reading the government letter and not an article that cherry picks a single item from it and misrepresents the issue.

It’s also not actually true. American schools are obviously American fused. As a result, the vast majority of education is western focused. That means Christianity is simply more prevalent as a cause or an important figure to history. The “don’t touch Islam”, is actually one of the outcries of terrorist. Islam wasn’t relevant historically to be an emphasis for a long period of a curriculum, unless it’s the focus or theology. Islam’s coverage in education is limited largely to modern history... at least in relation to US. It’s not ‘don’t touch’, it’s that in context... there is nothing to touch. We don’t teach middle eastern history, unless focused. Jews fall into a different box, because WW2 and thus the holocaust, is a major focus of western curriculum. You’ll learn about it in Jr HS, elementary, HS and even kindergarten, when you make red flowers in GB for remembrance day or in US for DDay. It makes Jews inherently the victim of western education. Simply because... again, we don’t teach middle eastern history nor historical persecution. All of the ire against Israel specifically, is limited to modern history. Chances are, if you exclude WW2, the only thing you would learn about Jews, would be in English class... if you focus on Shakespeare and learn about Shylock.

In short, if Islam and Judaism was treated the same as Christianity in schools. It’s wouldn't be some changing bias in the way these religions are presented. It would simply mean public education would need to last well into your 20s, to cover the added, not changed, curriculum.

Edit: You simply can’t avoid, and it is absolutely harmful to even try, religion in history. The foundation of America, from those who boarded ships coming here. To what the Pilgrims were to the constitution’s justification, like the Jefferson’s wall letter to the Baptist, religion is extremely important for context of history... just don’t turn it theological. That’s when...

We knew the wall didn't/won't/doesn't work, but what's more telling is that of course Trump is lying about having professional climbers test it when no one has heard of any climber testing the wall in the least.

Plus Trump said that you can get over the wall, if you were an Olympic class pole vaulter, so he's already admitted to being able to get over it on at least one occasion.

Trump continues to push the narrative that the Fake News media just made all this up.

Just a reminder: Trump could sue for slander or libel if that was true.

Further reminder: Trump lies all the time about everything.

Final reminder: the Fake News didn't create the ICIG or the letters he wrote to Congress.

    Some good news for Trump....https://www.newsweek.com/trump-appro...-obama-1460076

President Donald Trump's job approval rating this week averaged across major polls surpassed that of his predecessor President Barack Obama at the same time eight years ago, giving some actual good news to Trump who is known to cite only conservative-leaning polls to bolster his image.

Trump's approval rating on Wednesday was 44.3 percent, according to a Real Clear Politics average of more than a half-dozen major polls. That is higher than Obama's average approval rating of 43.9 percent on September 18, 2011, by the same measure

As of today, it is a little higher at 44.7% average...https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ep...oval-6179.html

So people are happier about job numbers during a strong economy than they were during a recession?

    Color me shocked.

Lol! Yep and his ratings will plummet if there is another recession before Nov. 2020 and his odds of being reelected will drop significantly. But it is still positive news for him. It also explains why some of his haters, are wanting another recession before the election.

And on this same topic, in my state of Ohio....https://www.foxbusiness.com/economy/...att-industries

President Trump welcomed Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison in Wapakoneta, Ohio at Pratt Industries, along with factory owner Australian billionaire Anthony Pratt, as he touted an "economic revival" of the manufacturing industry with the promise of more foreign investment and a surge in new jobs.

"We proudly declare Pratt Industries and the great, great state of Ohio open for business...Pratt has pledged, as I said, to invest many billions in the United States

Pratt is creating 5,000 new jobs, helped in part by Trump's tax cuts which included lowering the corporate tax rate to 21 percent from 35 percent.

Only if, like Trump, you believe you're doing well if someone is doing worse. Trump's approval dropped underwater almost immediately and has lived there ever since.

Actually let's go one step further:

You're comparing a relative high point for Trump, for what might be Obama's lowest numbers ever. Obama's numbers climbed rapidly from this point for the next year. Trump hasn't seen the good side of 50% since July of 20never.

So let's see what Axios has for us this evening.

Conservative leaders are circulating data to White House staff that claims adults who vape will turn on President Trump if he follows through with his planned ban on flavored e-cigarettes, Axios has learned.
HAHAHAHAHA oh, right, right, all that stuff Trump did and the vape ban will cost him the election. A vape ban. Oh, please. Let me --

The data (shown below) reveals that the number of adult vapers in key battleground states greatly outweighs the margins by which Trump won those states in 2016
    Holy shit, they're serious!

Okay, to be fair, Axios talks about the study with skepticism. But let's pretend, for the moment, that vapers were just as likely to vote for Trump as the rest of the country in 2016, and that half of those people shift their votes. That's Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan immediately. And that's just napkin math. I'll refer you to this other study, also from Axios, which suggests he's already lost every state on this list anyhow.

It won't be vaping that kills him, but it's certainly not going to help him much.

The Senate has yet to pass a single spending bill.

A shutdown is imminent. Senate is due for another vacation, but Senate Democrats are blocking spending bills. Why? They accuse McConnell of
    a) padding DHS funding, so that there's extra Wall money, and
    b) forcing wording into the spending bills that would allow Trump to change otherwise allocated money to Wall money without the need of Congress

If I'm reading this right, there's a week to resolve this. Considering the House has passed 10 out of 12 spending bills, this will land in McConnnell's lap regardless of the reason. I guess the question is, which would he rather have: a spending bill without Wall funding, or a shutdown that he's responsible for?

What those articles about Trump's approval rating don't mention is that Trump's net approval rating is lower than Obama's ever was and that Obama's approval rating rebounded within a year and a half... Trump's is unlikely to do that.
