Once again, getting out in front of this.
Trump is likely to spend the weekend bragging about a major trade victory, which of course, he doesn't actually have.
1) What he and China agreed to involves China buying more agricultural products, which considering it's mid October isn't really all that helpful.
2) Trump agreed not to raise tariffs. Which means, by Trump's own arguments, that he's costing the government because he bragged about raking in all that money.
3) Oh, and he's not lowering tariffs. So the reality is, he's still applying the largest tax increase in American history. He just decided not to make it
worse.
4) And finally, neither Trump nor China signed anything. It'll be three to five weeks before there are details on a document. This is an agreement, to have an agreement. So nothing changes for a while anyhow.
This is what I said it would be earlier: Trump basically tweeting so that the stock market would go up.
