Well Lindsay Graham is making himself look like a dipshit on tv right now.

I like how he doesn't mention the "secret" investigation that occurred before the impeachment vote for Clinton.

I hate, I absolutely hate, that the republican party consistently tries to fight reality.

They're just gaslighting their voters, because they know said voters are too stupid to actually find the facts by themselves.

There should be a system where Every time a politician lies it should be punished with a hefty fine.

Of course they will have a a day or two to provide evidence for their claim.

Not a day or two to explain what they “actually meant was”. That would incur a fine as well.

I’m sure someone can come up with a more detailed version of this.

Are we talking Woke Independents here, because there aren't enough real independents in the country to matter in anything.

Anyone who claims to be independent, usually has an asterisk next to it to say (*but I lean X).

*Snort* yeah sure. I know a lot of independents at work who've only ever voted Republican, and have explicitly said nothing would ever make them vote otherwise.

But they call themselves independents and thus count in your statistics.

    Sure, Jan.

"Independent" is yank-speak for 'I lean X but don't want to appear partisan because America has a weird hatred of political parties."

    The very next tweet:
I really enjoyed my conversation with General @MazloumAbdi. He appreciates what we have done, and I appreciate what the Kurds have done. Perhaps it is time for the Kurds to start heading to the Oil Region!
Ok... first, there is no way in hell Gen. Abdi is in any way grateful to Trump, considering that same Gen. Abadi told the associated press today that the Turks will still attacking, and pled for help to save his people. Last week he called the deal "Atrocious" and agreed to only very limited withdrawals. He remains insistent that the Kurds have not abandoned the area that Trump claims belongs to Turkey now. So there is absolutely no way that Abdi graciously thanked Trump for all he has done, like Trump is pretending here. This is just a disgusting lie.

Second: "Perhaps it is time for the Kurds to start heading to the Oil Region!"... Just what the fuck. Apparently he thinks Kurds are no obligated to protect Syrian oil for some reason, in the absence of US Troops, which he just withdrew. And of course talking about oil while our allies are still dying.

How Trump is still managing to disgust me on this every day is amazing. I keep thinking he has found a new low, but he keeps breezing past it.

I come from a country with parliamentary government where there are more than two parties: so, no.

America's weird disdain for political parties is it's own problem. They can actually be quite useful instruments in a functioning democracy.

BREAKING NEWS: "China offered to resume buying US agriculture products at 2017 levels if US agreed to reduce US tariffs to 2017 levels."

Which in no way disputes what I said; "independent" voters aren't actually a thing and are de facto Democrats/Republicans, their refusal to acknowledge as such is based entirely on America's aforementioned weird hatred of political parties.

Do people honestly think anyone who does label themselves a member of X party aligns completely with its platform? Lol.

Independents aren't special, they just try to convince everyone else that they are. It's a form of political hipsterism.

So...independents are basically just nonvoters, then.

Or. You know. Stupid. Because that's the best synonym for "apolitical" in a democracy.

It's 100% political hipsterism, at least in the United States. What's the advantage of registering as an Independent? You can't vote in the primaries unless you're registered with a party. All they're doing is opting out of half of the process.

Populists (and "national socialists") look at the supposedly secret deals that run the world "behind the scenes". Child's play. Except that childishness is sinister in adults.

man, 2020's gonna be some good shit if this is anything to go by.

that is, if a civil war doesn't break out before that. assuming it doesn't though, i hope to see some true hilarity, no matter who wins.

In California independents can vote in the Democrat primary, but not the Republican primary.

In North Carolina, Independents can vote in either primary, but only for one party.

Edit: We are also gerrymandered to hell and back.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
    "mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.
