That was like watching a 14 year old getting caught into something and complains on the phone to their friends about this, even though the 14 year old is the only one at fault. Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) on Monday said he will retire from the Senate next month, saying his "health has become an ongoing challenge."

"I intend to fulfill my responsibilities and commitments to the people of Mississippi and the Senate through the completion of the 2018 appropriations cycle, after which I will formally retire from the U.S. Senate," Cochran said in a statement.

He is set to resign from his seat on April 1, according to his office.

Cochran is the chairman of the Appropriations Committee. His announcement comes as Congress aims to pass a mammoth government funding bill by March 23, and after months of speculation about his health.

The Chair of Appropriations is retiring for "health" reasons. IIRC, Appropriations and Judiciary are the two most sought after committee chairs in the Senate. And I would say Appropriations wins that little battle.

Looks like the rules of the special will require a runoff with all candidates running against each other... So think the GA-6 initial rounds. We could very well seem a democrat getting ~45% and a bunch of different republicans getting 55% total.

That said, the comparison "how many lawmakers have left office in some way" still puts Trump way ahead of the curve. Health reasons could happen to anyone regardless of who's President, but, with so many other departures it is no longer possible to cite coincidence.

Considering everything in the Steele Dossier has either been confirmed or hasn't been debunked so far. Nothing in the dossier has been shown to be fake yet. Including the piss tape. So I wouldn't say that this is shaky or outright false, it isn't surprising that Mitt Romney wouldn't have been Russia's choice for SoS. I mean look at who they have right now. By creating a food box standard in the industry and asking the industry to deliver products that match those requirements. The inane idea is to ask the program itself to create these boxes since it cannot possibly handle the packaging requirements.
The IT capabilities required to flag specific products per store as available by EBT card (to create exclusions for e.g. alcohol or cosmetics) can just not be assume outside the larger chain stores (and would require a national product database which while IMO is a splendid idea, is a project that would take several years to achieve). These ofc are ideas that would only be fielded by a socialist government (no, not social democratic, actual socialist government). Weird to find out the GOP are commies if it comes to forcing the poor to live by their standards.
