Not answering questions seems to be the primary role of the Press Secretary in the Trump administration.

That was like watching a 14 year old getting caught into something and complains on the phone to their friends about this, even though the 14 year old is the only one at fault. The video below it with him saying that "he thinks they have something" even though moments before saying Trump didn't do anything is beautiful.

And we have yet another retirement.

Sen. Thad Cochran (R-Miss.) on Monday said he will retire from the Senate next month, saying his "health has become an ongoing challenge."

"I intend to fulfill my responsibilities and commitments to the people of Mississippi and the Senate through the completion of the 2018 appropriations cycle, after which I will formally retire from the U.S. Senate," Cochran said in a statement.

He is set to resign from his seat on April 1, according to his office.

Cochran is the chairman of the Appropriations Committee. His announcement comes as Congress aims to pass a mammoth government funding bill by March 23, and after months of speculation about his health.
Even if we consider his health as the reason -- and it very likely is, the issue has come up before -- that just adds to the mounting number of Republicans leaving. And it's a huge seat, too.

    - - - Updated - - -

In the ongoing effort to do his part to make the government even more corrupt, the EPA agreed it was ethical for one of their employees to also be a media consultant.

    "For whom?"

They literally wouldn't say. The names of the clients were redacted.

There's no special until November.... I don't know if this means that dems only need 1 defection to block appointments or reconciliation or if they're going to send someone appointed by the governor.

23 lies/false claims in a single meeting with governors is impressive.

Because of course he's going to lie constantly to everyone, why wouldn't he?

My personal favorite was when he mixed up the details of two school shootings, because we've had so many it's hard to keep track which is which. And, after the NRA yanked the choke chain, he still wants crazy people to have assault rifles.

The Chair of Appropriations is retiring for "health" reasons. IIRC, Appropriations and Judiciary are the two most sought after committee chairs in the Senate. And I would say Appropriations wins that little battle.

What in the holy fuck does Mueller have? It has to be at least in part that these Senators/Representatives know what's coming and are hoping to get out of the way of the indictment train.

Looks like the rules of the special will require a runoff with all candidates running against each other... So think the GA-6 initial rounds. We could very well seem a democrat getting ~45% and a bunch of different republicans getting 55% total.

Actually, I believe him. This is an article from October for example.

That said, the comparison "how many lawmakers have left office in some way" still puts Trump way ahead of the curve. Health reasons could happen to anyone regardless of who's President, but, with so many other departures it is no longer possible to cite coincidence.

Wait! So the Orange Moron didn't own the hotel property in Panama?

Yeah you Trumpkins thinking this guy is a businessman. He is a Kardashian who puts his name on crap. You can make the claim he is making money off his brand, but still makes him a Kardashian.
Democrats are the best! I will never ever question a Democrat again. I LOVE the Democrats!

Hey now, let's not insult the Kardashians. Say what you will about them personally (I loathe their existence), but they're some smart businesswomen who have made a ton of money off of...uh...existing.

I don't think they've bankrupted anywhere near as many businesses as Trump has, even collectively.

Trump thought he owned it so much, it took a judicial order and physical force to remove his employees. Again, that was the last Hispanic property to have a Trump hotel.

"What about the hotel in Brazil?"

Well, since it wasn't finished in time for the Olympics, Trump kinda lost interest and it's incomplete. Also, he's tariffing the crap out of Brazil, so...

    "Uruguay?"

Also incomplete. Started in 2012, so, still incomplete suggests lack of interest.

    "Buenos Aires?"

Within days of the public learning that Trump had called, asking for this stalled project to get its licenses somehow magically granted, Trump mysteriously lost interest in a way not at all like he was caught publicly using the White House for personal gain.

    "St. Vincent?"

They bulldozed that motherfucker and turned it into a hurricane shelter.

This just goes to show you how much he golfs that he's willing to break a federal law to do it. I don't know if I can come up with anything to properly say how dumb this is.

Now Obama had golf balls with the seal on them, but Trump is trying to use these for his courses.
And the shit show just gets worse. Even when you think it possibly can't. Every. Single. Day.

Remember that stupid idea to box food and send it directly to folks instead of giving them EBT cards?

Turns out that most economists agree that it's a fucking stupid idea. Shocking.

One economist out of 43 agrees with Trump, which is good enough for him.

Considering everything in the Steele Dossier has either been confirmed or hasn't been debunked so far. Nothing in the dossier has been shown to be fake yet. Including the piss tape. So I wouldn't say that this is shaky or outright false, it isn't surprising that Mitt Romney wouldn't have been Russia's choice for SoS. I mean look at who they have right now. Best friend of Putin, Rex Tillerson.

The IT capabilities required to flag specific products per store as available by EBT card (to create exclusions for e.g. alcohol or cosmetics) can just not be assume outside the larger chain stores (and would require a national product database which while IMO is a splendid idea, is a project that would take several years to achieve). These ofc are ideas that would only be fielded by a socialist government (no, not social democratic, actual socialist government). Weird to find out the GOP are commies if it comes to forcing the poor to live by their standards.
Or we can just agree to give people money and let them handle it. If they want to get drunk and stay starved it's up to them after all.
it being done isn't the problem, cost would be astronomically higher. And since the complaint about "wasteful" spending is their primary grievance it really is a stupid idea.
