    Right?

Not saying SB Anthony doesn't deserve it but damn, that was anticlimatic lol.

God, only Trump could screw this up. What could have been a big moment for women's rights is now a cheap ploy, forever stained orange.
It is indicative of the conservative's inane ability to be out of touch with reality.

They don't get how thinking women, as a group, are stupid enough to fall for that pardon is them being actually sexist. Just like how thinking black people are stupid enough to vote for Kanye instead of Biden, is actually them being racist.

But that is what you get from a group of people who think being willfully simple mentally is a badge of honor.

Well he also cheapened it considerably by both attacking a woman and the voting process practically within the same breath as the pardon, so I'm pretty sure the net gain for him is in the minuses.

So I guess pardons are now basically marketing events for Trump. WHO WILL IT BE? GOTTA HYPE UP THAT DISTRACTION FROM THE DEMOCRATIC CONVENTION!

The lizard part of my brain is saying he's going to pull the ultimate troll and pardon Obama for "spying on his campaign".
Senate committee report is out, saying Manafort and Russia helped sway the election for Trump. And for those playing at home, remember that's a GOP controlled Senate.

I'm guessing Manafort for the Pardon.

Already happened, he pardoned Susan B. Anthony because I guess he thinks that pardoning a dead lady is gonna secure the "suburban housewife" vote or some stupid shit.

But he already got the "suburban housewife" by keeping the "low-income housing" at bay, remember?

The WHO warns against "nationalism" ruining the steps taken to defeat COVID-19.

While not spelling out the word "Trump" everyone is capable of reading between the lines. Made of hydrochloroquine. That Trump is apparently snorting.

We need to prevent vaccine nationalism. Sharing finite supplies strategically and globally is actually in each country’s national interest. No one is safe until everyone is safe.

Even business groups are coming out against Trump's proposal to defer payroll taxes. Not just against it, but they're openly signaling they'll ignore it.

"Many of our members will likely decline to implement deferral, choosing instead to continue to withhold and remit to the government the payroll taxes required by law," the letter said.
Because businesses know consumer spending drives the economy, and that a great many consumers won't be saving those withholdings to pay them back later but will be spending them. Meaning that they're put under greater financial hardship later when they need to pay it back.

Once again, the "businessman" president is a complete and utter failure of a businessman.

Yeah - caught that after I posted. Honestly, Manafort would have gotten him better results. Women are going to be insulted by this "pardon" - her arrest was a source of pride for her, and she never paid the fine, and the authorities basically just let it go.

Dipshit-in-Chief fucks up again because he continues to be utterly clueless.

There are a couple of stories out about that. Informed speculation is that this is where he started laundering money for the Russians. Hence the loan from Deutsche Bank, etc., resulting in Kavanaugh's nomination (no, I'm not joking), etc.

Yeah, but if you're a worker who...oh, wait. You said "businesses".

Honestly, deferring taxes in this circumstance is a no-win situation. You either pay from what little you have now, or assume things will be better next two years and pay half each then. Considering what we've seen about unemployment predictions, neither is a good solution. And neither helps the unemployed.

I guess you could assume Trump will be good on his word and handwave the debt, but this is Trump we're talking about. Not only does he never pay what he's contractually owed, this would hardly be the first campaign promise he never even moved on.

And that's not even counting the entire percentage-based situation of payroll taxes. Workers who get less money, and therefore, businesses that pay their workers less money, will defer fewer taxes, making less of a difference for the people who need it most.

And that's not even counting everything else Trump has done to directly damage American businesses. So even if you believed Trump and thought this was a good idea, you'd still have to ask yourself "does it make up for all that other stuff he did?"

Trump's move was a move of desperation. He couldn't waive the taxes, and he can't even if he wins again -- only Congress can do that. The best he can do is push back the deadline. There's no money left to buy votes with. There's barely time left to make a relief bill as it is, and Mitch "No to Everything" has seemed down on the idea of payroll tax cuts and/or deferrments.

Trump will gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.

Do we actually know of any successful business ventures that haven't relied on Russian/drug money laundering profits loans from Deutsche Bank or having his name in the spotlight because of his campaign and election?

Wasn't he pretty much a failure before the election?

And then on Wednesday, when Trump still hasn't paid, will sue you for non-conforming hamburger and violation of contract.

I think we're at the point where every action Trump does will only be applauded by the people who were going to vote for him anyhow. I don't think anyone who has ever posted on these forums even knows a woman who will say "Well I was undecided, then Trump pardoned Susan B. Anthony, which shows he really cares about women, so I'm voting for Trump now". Other than a Russian bot FB post that is.
