The mics with be muted for the initial 2 min block for each candidate when moving onto a new subject, and presumably opening/closing statements. Rest of the time will be business as usual, so expect a healthy portion of interruptive gish gallop diarrhea from Trump's mouth. I actually think this will slightly, ever so slightly, help Trump, just because there will be several blocks of time where he simply can't make an ass of himself, as least, verbally. If he's lucky when the mic is muted they'll completely cut the video feed off him too, but, I suspect that won't be the case.

While him not being (probably) able to make an ass of himself by being muted could 'help' him, having Biden being able to actually talk, will most likely help Biden alot more

I don't think there are enough truly "undecided" voters at this point to matter for the results of the election. I truly don't believe there have been any undecided voters since 2016, just folks calling themselves undecided because they're too embarrassed by their choice to publicly admit what their choice is, on either side of the political fence. ie Republicans voting for Biden, Democrats voting for Trump (lol, not really)

If by some chance there IS a truly undecided voter, these shams of a debate aren't going to help them make their choice because all they do is hghlight what we already know about each candidate. If the last 4 years haven't done anything to help you make your decision yet, a debate isn't going to push you over that line.

1. His numbers are not good right now. They are, in fact, quite bad.
2. His rallies are targeted towards his supporters. Most of his non-supporters do not listen to/watch his rallies. He doesn't have that luxury in the debates.

Meaning, yes, Trump has currently made at least a million from his campaign -- assuming he matched the #10 spot.
