Watching my dad fall victim to that was pretty sad. When I was kid and even a teen, it was always preaching for me to go to college and make something out of my life. Be something better than just a carpenter like him. Now? College is for liberal brainwashing, only people like him (high school drop out laborers) are real Americans, and went as far as saying i should be shot in a firing line with the rest of the libs for ruining his country.

That's awful, but seemingly commonplace now. I have family and friends walking down, or already at, the same path. It's horrible to watch the assault on intelligence and science and critical thinking - and even worse to see it working.

Agreed, it's really hard to watch and is extremely frustrating. I live in a very conservative area (the local parade's theme was MAGA); majority of family and coworkers are brainwashed.

I have to pretty much keep silent at work because I would honestly probably get fired if it was known that I don't worship Trump. I can't even count how many times I was just completely floored by what someone at work believes/said or just the pure ignorance. Any attempt to inform or educate (subtly mind you) is FAKE NEWS. Only Fox or Rush L., are acceptable forms of information. Facebook echo chambers are also accepted, depending on the individual.

My previous job was at a place similar to yours. Couldn't disagree with Fox News (which was playing all time on a huge tv). Obama was a muslim socialist. Etc. I left before Trump won - I can't imagine the hell you go through on a daily basis.
