A dozen GOP Senator introduced legislation to reign in the powers of the president to declare national emergencies! They're putting a limit on how long an emergency can last, 30 days, before Congressional approval is needed to extend it.

Bonus points for a "both sides" argument, ignoring the fact that the only president that has ever tried to abuse national emergency declarations in our lifetimes is...well...Trump.

The take seems to be that this is meant to bleed votes from the bill that the Senate is supposed to vote on by Friday, ensuring that it does not pass and so the GOP does not have to appear to be breaking with Trump.

Did you go to the video the Daily Beast linked? They went to the police station with bulletproof vests on, to continue the charade. The comments are hilarious. Trump was due to meet with China later in March. China has now pushed the trip back to April or even later.
