So Trump was at the NRA today. I'm sure we'll find the various lies in the transcript soon enough. But that's no longer the headline.

Wayne LaPierre says the NRA's board is blackmailing him into resigning.

Apparently, they know he's been accused of fiscal misdeeds --

    "Russian spy?"

No, he spent $200,000 on clothing for himself and kept it.

The most recent poll I saw about it was back in November and that put it at about 50% approval and declining among military. I can't imagine it's gone up much since then. The majority of the disapproval seemed to come from the Air Force which makes sense, but there was a hefty dislike from pretty much all branches. I will admit I don't know how the approval rating stacks against Presidents from the past, but I can't imagine it's all that great.

Could be wrong on this, but I believe the vast majority of officers dislike him, less so infantry.

3.2% GDP blows out expectations while literally the rest of the world is facing a recession.

How specifically does this help. If the growth doesn’t grow wages all it means is for the average person everything got more expensive but big companies had great earnings.

Wage growth even higher for those at the bottom. Because of historic unemployment we will see real wage growth. The high GDP will import de-flation from struggling western countries that are simply not growing like the United States. This is good for the American Worker.

If the United States had numbers like that the party in power would not win another election for a generation.

I thought I saw everything, but "how does economic growth help people specifically?" left me speechless.

Themius, dear. Study more. You are asking things so basic, nobody knows where to even start answering.

The issue is Economics is not taught in schools and is usually treated as an elective. The most important thing in life is relegated too being on the same level as hand writing analysis.

The people cheering 3.2% are the ones who didn't read the report to see why the numbers are what they are. Filling warehouses with items the US worker can't afford technically increases GDP, but selling them next month/year won't.

Oh, and it's the same people who cite wage growth but fail to mention real wage growth, aka wage growth over inflation/PCI growth. Hint: it's one percent at best.

Dear, if you want to use numbers adjusted for inflation, let's do it.

Here is the page with all data from which your report - that you parade as some kind of proof of the economy / Trump doing bad - comes:

    https://www.bls.gov/bls/news-release/realer.htm

You decided to look into yearly changes ending in March, cool, let's go:

    Trump
March 2018 to March 2019: +1.3 % --- this is your number, you are both misquoting it as "1% at best" and for some reason pretending it is bad
    March 2017 to March 2018: +0.4 % --- this was worse, yes

    Obama
March 2016 to March 2017: +0.3 % --- huh? same as Trump's worst? how come?
    March 2015 to March 2016: +1.4 %
March 2014 to March 2015: +2.2 % --- yes, this is good, better than Trump's current best
    March 2013 to March 2014: +0.5 %
    March 2012 to March 2013: +0.3 %
March 2011 to March 2012: -0.6 % --- a negative value due to the financial crisis
    March 2010 to March 2011: -1.0 % --- as above
    etc

So, what did you want to say about real wages again? What was wrong with cheering? Remind me.

    Budget deficit by fiscal year:

    Trump
    FY 2019 - $1.092 trillion.
    FY 2018 - $779 billion.

Obama (total = $6.785 trillion, a 57 percent increase from before)
    FY 2017 - $666 billion.
    FY 2016 - $585 billion.
    FY 2015 - $438 billion.
    FY 2014 - $485 billion.
    FY 2013 - $679 billion.
    FY 2012 - $1.087 trillion.
    FY 2011 - $1.300 trillion.
FY 2010 - $1.547 trillion. This is the sum of $1.294 trillion plus $253 billion from the Obama Stimulus Act that was attached to the FY 2009 budget.

Bush (total = $3.293 trillion, a 57 percent increase from before)
    FY 2009 - $1.16 trillion.
    FY 2008 - $459 billion.
    FY 2007 - $161 billion.
    FY 2006 - $248 billion.
    FY 2005 - $318 billion.
    FY 2004 - $413 billion.
    FY 2003 - $378 billion.
    FY 2002 - $158 billion.

    Obama wins here, no?
Trump is basically at 2 trillion in a quarter of the time it took Obama to get near 7, that would put Trump on path to go over 8 trillion.

    Math. Learn it.

Also, the context of Obama being given a shitty economy and turning it around is far better than Trump being handed a great one and still somehow running up the deficit like it's one of his casinos.

Dear, if you performed the same interpolation for Obama, you'd end up with ~12 trillion.

He'd have to have pretty damn good genes to have survived as long as he has with such a lifestyle.
