You have to remember, the mods work as volunteers, they aren't always going to be around. Though, if I recall, they did add it in on Slack to notify but still needs people for the section to remove them.

oh I know that they aren't paid, mods rarely are. but my original point still stands; right now is when it happens so why not add a few mods who are awake and who can get online

You still need people to be able to do this task. Can't just give it to someone without them having activity in the given thread, as well, can't have too many sitting on one subforum either.

I see that the epic @MoanaLisa is already sweeping out GenD.

Probably has already been suggested in the past, but could you make requirements for creating a thread like 50 posts or something like that? Sure, it would hurt the people who register just to make a thread askign about something, but imo that's better than having the forums spammed with those threads all the time. Like, it's happening this very minute again.

Reason is the bots would just hijack normal threads and spam there. Much harder to track down.

Yep. Been there and done that. Spam is much easier to see when it's in a thread of its own. Tracking down random spam posts inside of three dozen normal threads isn't a step forward.

We are always recruiting. We need good people to apply.

In the meantime, we are working with both the company that runs the spam filter and our own tools to improve handling of these. People already explained why we can't add post limiters.
