How much alcohol does it take before you feel its affects and are satisfied.

This chart was from a survey on how much alcohol affected them. I assume the units of alcohol are the UK 10ml of pure alcohol.

What do you think of the chart? Do the number represent what you think or do they look like they have been inflated?

Some countries in the UK are putting a minimum price on alcohol using the unit system.

She said the measure was needed to tackle the "devastation" caused by cheap, high-strength alcohol.

The 50p-per-unit minimum would raise the price of the cheapest bottle of red wine (9.4 units of alcohol) to £4.69, while a four-pack of 500ml cans of 4% lager (8 units) would cost at least £4 and a 70cl bottle of whisky (28 units of alcohol) could not be sold for less than £14.

Normal strength cider (5% ABV) would cost at least £2.50 a litre but a super-strength version (7.5% ABV) would have to cost a minimum of £3.75 for a litre.

A lot. I've had almost a full 24-pack of beer without feeling drunk, just tipsy. I can easily do half a 1.75L bottle of vodka by myself just fine.

Theres a few things to consider when it comes to how much alcohol can cause an effect on you.

Your weight being one of them. I don't drink all that often, but as I am overweight, when I do drink, I don't get as drunk quickly as others do.

Have you eaten. Drinking without food in your stomach causes you to feel the effects much quicker.

How quickly you drink. I can drink a bottle of cider and feel nothing. But if I were to down it in about 10 seconds, it starts to have an effect on me pretty quickly despite drinking the same amount.

Like 2-4 cans of cider before I get tipsy if they're 7%, depending on if I've eaten before or not.

Americans getting out drunk by those sissy Europeans. For shame. We need to work on this.
People working 2 jobs in the US (at least one part-time) - 7.8 Million (Roughly 4.9% of the workforce)

People working 2 full-time jobs in the US - 360,000 (0.2% of the workforce)

Average time worked weekly by the US Workforce - 34.5 hours

For UK those numbers are inflated, for sure. Here they drink piss instead of beer ( 3% alc) and they think they can drink a lot, most of them are wasted after 4 pints anyway.

Can pace my self and drink a reasonable amount when I have food.
if you are going out drinking it is important to have a decent breaakfast or lunch

And do not be like this guy>

A man has been freed on bail, after allegedly being found drunk, naked and surrounded by cheeseburgers inside the Masonic Memorial Centre on Ann Street in Brisbane.

His lawyer told Seven News that his client had drunk a bottle of Johnny Walker had planned to deliver cheesburgers to the homeless. Instead he broke into the centre where we was later found lying among the pipes of one of Queensland’s biggest pipe organs.

“Things just got a little bit loose,” was his description of the event.

When asked by a reporter why he got naked, he responded: “I can’t explain that at the moment.”

Among his possession when he was found was clothes, a remote control police car and a toy gun.

“I was out of it,” he said.

The man has apologised for his actions.

As a very short, very skinny woman, I smell booze a mile away and get a nice buzz.

I don’t really drink anymore. I’m 5’ female and a major light weight. Maybe 1.5 and I’m done.

In fairness, they chart only shows how many until we get drunk, not how many until we stop.

It depends... if I'm drinking alone, I usually am satisfied when I get sleepy. When drinking in company, I'm satisfied when I start not being annoyed by them anymore

One beer gets me a bit buzzed. Two beers will start to give me a headache and make me want to take a nap rather than be social. It's been 15 years since I tried having more than two drinks in a day. Usually I don't drink at all now.

The horizontal axis would be BAC, not number of drinks.

Pointless, seeing as people can and do develop tolerance to alcohol.

At this point it takes about a bottle of wine for me to feel really relaxed. I haven't had more than a single beer in a sitting in years now, so have no basis for comparison there.

That's me. My friends would get mad at me in college because I'd want to take a nap after two drinks. I feel the effects of one mixed drink/glass of wine pretty easily. I drink once or twice a year now.

Never taken enough alcohol to get even mildly affected, so can't really say. I've always remained in driving shape.

Depends on the shape I am in when I start drinking. If I've got a good meal in me and I'm not worn out from something, takes a good 6-8 drinks for me to start feeling drunk and quite a bit more to get me to a point where I start thinking I've gone to far.

    Edit:
On the other side, there are plenty of times that I come home from work have a beer with dinner and then pass out afterwards. And there are plenty of times where after having a couple glasses of wine while out for dinner I'm not comfortable driving until I've had a couple glasses of coffee/tea/water after the meal.
