Not sure if anyone noticed but the games section was updated with a new D2 logo similar to how the remaster of Starcraft appeared. Also the Warcraft 3 one is there too!
Next to the Starcraft one and the Warcraft 3 one is right after it.

Don't see it on eu website. Anyway a D2 remaster was one of the possible projects, so why not? I would play it for sure (currently playing Path of Diablo for nostalgia kicks).

thats nothing new, thats been there since D2 has been integrated into the battle net client (i think)

I wish they would bring D1/D2 into one game. Could use D1 as a prologue act.

They even added few nice features like widescreen support and increased maximum number of players from 12 to 24. Of course if they will give us more remasters of classic games I won't complain. I played D2X recently, killed Baal on hell.
I for one am not looking forward to a remaster. Fixing things like stash size, lightning damage bug (willowisp beams), rubberbanding etc. might make the game tolerable.

About 3 months ago the lead dev of d1 and d2 did an interview in that he went over how difficult to borderline impossible a d2 remaster would be. Because of the way they made the game it would have to be completely remade. It isn't a siimple process of updates engines and some extra pollish the game would have to be rebuilt from the ground up. It's obvious that one of the Diablo projects in the works is a Diablo 2 Remaster. People have been asking for it for a while, especially after a lot of people were disappointed in Diablo 3.

Just the thought of rebuilding that code probably gives them nightmares. Pretty much anything short of D4 is going to be quite a disappointment for a lot of people. But I guess the Diablo fan base is used to that by now.
