18 hours into the beta, these no life streamers have played non stop.
Yet, the highest level is only 18.
I am disappointed.
What takes them so long?

yes 10char
Because that is how long it can take for some players, also vanilla was a very different beast compared to what we have today.. Back then there were no heirlooms to help with XP, and if I remember right (been a long time since I played vanilla) there were no xp potions either also most people would not be rushing to get to 60.. Since the grind for gear and consumables to get into raiding was/is high..
The fasted that someone was able to level to 60, was about 4.5 days or so..

1hr/level at the low end, sounds pretty true to vanilla.
It's only been active for about 12 hours and unless they're levelling hunters, mid-to-late teens is about par. It's only going to get even slower for some of the classes I've seen people are levelling.
Very true I remember when I started playing in the middle of 2006 it took me months to get to 60, because I had no idea what I was supposed to do.. I first rolled a warrior didn't like it, rolled a pally was way too slow and in the end I only started to get somewhere after I decided to roll a mage.. And yes the level grind was painfully slow.. lol
- They're not rested.
- They do not have special toys to move from 1 side of the map to the other side in 10 seconds;
- They can't chain pull entire packs of mobs and aoe them down while doing other quests;
People complained a lot when Blizzard changed the leveling back when they introduced Allied Races, but that leveling speed is no where close to what we had in Vanilla.
Back then it was harder because we had no Database with quests (wowallakhazam and thottbot didn't exist yet) and people used the time to discover everything... I still remember being in Rutheran Village/Auberdine and people exploring Darkshore and asking in General if people managed to find Menethil Harbor.
Took my pala 3 months to get to lvl 60 and then i was first pala on server and nr 8 toon on alliance.
They just stopped for that 4str, 4stam leather belt.

Quests used to award next to no XP. You got most of it from killing things. Fastest way to level was probably to grind mobs.
Looking marvelous in velvet.
Leveling is slow.
Horde Hunters held the record back in real Vanilla, 4 days 20 hours from what I've found.
The first like 40 levels take the same as the last 20 if I recall (or something like that) so it'll only slow down.
Plus Beta is level capped at 30 so they'll hit the wall soon enough

In classic you pull one or max two mobs. You will end up with 10%HP or no mana if caster. Then you sit down, eat/drink, and get some more mobs. The process is extremely slow, and thats whats awesome about classic.
Most of the people (especially the ones who werent there in vanilla) will never make it to level 60! They will get stuck on their way. They will stop, cos it's not that fast paced "pull 15mobs and AOE them down" retails wow of now-a-days.
Vanilla will be awesome!
Can't wait for Classic to go live & everyone moan how long it takes to level & demand XP changes ;-)
