I think she literally created Cenarius from nothing.
But why does her upper body looks like a night elf? Well it either means Elune looks like a night elf or he is not older then the first night elfs and Elune made him look like them.

Orcs are mortal, though. Cenarius, on the other hand, is a demi-god. He can change his physical appearance, he can be reborn. You're comparing apples and oranges. Nothing indicates that his parents didn't give him any shape they found desirable.

I'm sorry but are you daft?

Two orcs making a baby versus a wild god and the moon goddess making a baby are not analagous to one another in the slightest.

The mood goddess. Isn't that every woman?

I'l take that response as your admission of being wrong. Lol

It would make perfect sense. Cenarius changed his form to resemble that of a Night Elf in order to befriend and teach the Night Elves and strengthen his bond with them. That would leave the question open as to what Cenarius would actually look like. But if that explanation was at any point given, I'd be fine with it. Unfortunately that isn't the case, and it is safe to assume that he looks the way he looks because he 50% resembles his father and 50% resembles his mother.

Also Dryards and his sons have a nelf upper body

I doubt Cenarius is the result of a biological procreation the way we understand it. I think she simply shaped his top half to resemble the race which worship her and holds her in highest reverence.

A gentleman to be sure. Are you also one of those people who can't admit they don't actually know whether or not god exists?

...What am I saying, you're a scientist. You know everything!

Then she's not actually his mother. He doesn't have a mother. Likely not a father either. He's just a construct. Is it said anywhere that Elune can create life?

    There is no god.

Are you one of those people who can't actually admit that they don't know whether the flying spaghetti monster actually exists or not?

Because I am smart enough to know that I am agnostic as to whether the flying spaghetti monster exists or not. I am not as arrogant as these flying spaghetti monster deniers.

Thank you for that. I shall now retire from this nitwitted argument.

I mean even if she did look like a female Night Elf it would still be kinda weird. Cause the Night Elves wouldn't be directly related to her, they are Dark Trolls that evolved into Night Elves because of their proximity to the Well of Eternity. So why would Elune's genes in Cenarius make him look like a male Night Elf? Is there a male counterpart to Elune? Is she the last of her race and that's what males of her species looked like? If she's a unique being, then wouldn't a child of hers simply look like her, like a mix of a stag and a female Night Elf, rather than a male?

It's sort of weird. Maybe Cenarius wasn't originally meant to be the son of Malorne and Elune, and the original conception was that of a member of the Night Elf race or something, but I don't know. I know that there was some contradiction about him actually being the son of Ysera, but that would make even less sense. Since the child of a stag and a dragon would also never make him look like a male Night Elf. It's really weird.

    - - - Updated - - -

He doesn't have to, because he already looks like a Night Elf. I don't know how the fuck these things were made. I only know Centaur are the mix of Theradras and a son of Cenarius.

Maybe Cenarius was also warped by the Well of Eternity and originally looked more like a stag than anything else. Although he really looks more like a horse. And Night Elves only look the way they do because of how they evolved from Trolls. They have a lot of similarities and you can see how a more evolved Troll would eventually come to look like a Night Elf.

Maybe Elune really looks like a Troll and she led the Dark Trolls to the Well of Eternity because they worshipped her, and that's why she helps the Night Elves but not the other Troll tribes?
    Ysera is the foster Mother.

Elune probably shaped the night elves to be like they are.

You know that's not how genetics work, right? You inherit 50% genetic traits from each parent, yes, but not necessarily 50% of their distinguished physical appearance. You're not a 50/50 mix meeting inbetween your parents either. There are such things as dominant traits, for example. There are some features you'll always have if any parent has them, aswell. Then there are spontanious mutations...

And anyway, this only applies to procreation inbetween the same species. It is extremly rare for two different species to be able of crossbreeding to begin with. You can't just have an elephant fuck a pig and expect to get pig-sized elephants.

I'm not aware of any official information on the matter, so this is the perspective which makes the most sence to me.

Is there a male counterpart to Elune or did Blizzard just not really think this through.
Is as simply as that she imagined a make form that resembles her shape and use it to made both the elves and cenarius.

Dark Trolls became Night Elves due to the proximity to the Well of Eternity.
The Well of Eternity was made of the blood of Azeroth.
Can we then infer that Elune = Azeroth?
And the moon they worship, possibly being a chunk of Azeroth, similar to Earth's moon, could hold a concentrated supply of her power that hasn't been diluted by all the other mystical forces to reach the planet, therefore explaining the priestesses of Elune being able to draw power from it.
The Dark Moon thing is still a mystery, perhaps Void corruption exists even there? Or the energy composing Elune/Azeroth transcends the physicality of the celestial bodies.
Elune predates azeroth, because she created the naarus.

That's not 100% confirmed but it might as well be so yeah true. That's too bad because my ramshackle theory tied things up nicely.

But then I think about balance druids and the Arcane damage type for Moonfire, Starfire, etc. Sure it's just an in game mechanic and can't be taken seriously. But remember that the titans are beings of arcane energy. If anything that further substantiates my theory.

If I didn't know any better, I'd say Blizzard has been hinting to us that Elune is Azeroth all along.

This is a magic world and we are talking about a deity. It is pointless to talk about genetics here.

The story has a logic, but our world's science isnt a part of it.

Yes, and elune controled their evolution to make them Look like her, may be even she was the one who attracted the dark trolls to the well.

I dont think blizzard has ver implied that elune and azeroth are one and the same.

Azeroth has always been shown as vulnerable, victim of the things that happens in the surface while elune has always been shown as the opposite, influencing events in the world's story.
