Can you clarify how that report differs from my statement?

For patients needing oxygen the mortality is reduced from 25% to 20%, which is a 20% reduction or 5 percentage points reduction, and for patients needing ventilators the mortality is reduced from 40% to 28% which is a 30% reduction or 12 percentage points reduction.

Yes, that is actually good news. The previous drug that worked (remdesivir) only reduced hospital stay - not mortality.

However, the reduction in mortality is around a 20%-30% - and it doesn't seem to help cases not requiring oxygen or ventilator.

My question is, a majority of the deaths are from people who are in ventilation? because if that's the case, it would impact mortality by a lot

If the healthcare system is working almost all patients who die have had oxygen or ventilator.

And the split between them seems about even (in many cases people start with oxygen and then get ventilation). The reason I've heard that everyone who dies isn't in ventilator is that it's quite brutal and doctors feel that some patients wouldn't survive it.

It has to be. It can't be anything else. There is a term for it, I heard on a podcast, interesting idea I hadn't heard of before, a take on the god of the gaps idea, but called racism of the gaps. If there is a gap in relation to race, it is racism. End of story. Stop looking.

Viruses are genoma sensitive, for example, we have found evidences that ceartain types of specific genoma turn viruses like HIV less likely to reproduce on higher levels, some genomas can even almost block the virus.

Think this way, the virus needs to have the proper instructions in its RNA/DNA to be able to infect and reproduce themselves. Viruses are specialists, without the proper information they can't what is supposed too.

It's not necessarily that vitamin D is more important for certain groups - but that certain groups get less of it.

Your view of racism seems to be that it's better that person of colour suffer from diseases such as rickets in Europe/N. America (and covid-19 if these new conclusions hold) than be seen as racist.

Another issue is that if vitamin D is important against covid-19 there is a risk that stay at home orders have been dangerous.

I guess people cannot understand that not everything is about racism. Science does not care, nor does biology.
The infraction should be removed (Yes yes, discussing moderation is forbidden, blah.....)

Let's hope they find a way to reduce the increased casualty rates for non-whites.
