Ive been passing my time leveling new chars and rolling on weapon banners
Trying new builds and new teams.
This is my newest, yet different teams

Eula + Raiden + Albedo + Zhongli

Gotta say though, Signora got the first two gnosis and was working on the third. Really makes her seem like she was the only one putting in work. No clue what those other slackers were doing.

Did one ten pull on my alt, got Mona and Heizou. Hmm. Absolutely zero leveling materials, yay. And I just farmed as many onikabuto as I needed for Itto, and those things are a pain in the dick to farm. I guess it gives a long term goal. I'm guessing weapons like Frostbearer and Eye of Perception proc regular damage and not a specific element, despite it sounding like electro and cryo. I was thinking if I could proc an elemental attack, Heizou could provide his own reactions.

Anyway i checked over new character stats and i can say:

Collei -- C4 to have her a little support to party, but buff its not that big. Just 60 elemental mastery. Stacking attack stat will be a realy good idea to get as much dendro damage support on her.

Tighari -- i checked stats and other things and it just fells like a crappier version of Ganyu. To get a instant (but weaker) change shot, you gota cast E 1.st and then probaly stand in that E to be able to fire 3 instant charge shots. So he will need a shield badly i can see that. His Q is kinda cheap tho.

Dori -- finaly we can use that claymore on her (if we use her for healing) Her downside is that to get Aoe healing, she needs C6 and also use normal attacks (kinda like Qiqi) She is however some type of healer + energy battery. But her burst cost to make this work is 80, so we will see how it works.

It is not that heavily gated, you literally will spend a few hours to get into Liyue and few hours to get into Inazuma IF you speedrun story that is, don't spread misinformation.
As for writing and presentation - very subjective, some people like it big time.

Because it's genuinely not bad. It's simply slow. The regional storylines take priority over the overarching narrative involving the abyss, fatui, etc. Idk why he's calling it heavily gated either.

It's not really subjective. The main story and a few character/side/event quests have been amazing, but the majority of the quests are really poorly written. Like, it's obvious it's quantity over quality in their case, and them being undubbed (even though there's not many of them and they easily could and should have been voiced, at least the more important ones like Zhiqiong's quests lately - they even had the VAs on hand, why not record 20 more lines?) is the best proof of that. The main issue here is that writing quality is dropping with every patch, and this is especially noticeable in case of event quests.
Then there's the silent MC problem compounded by the illusion of choice in dialogues, which breaks with every single line choice, and this alone makes the writing and presentation bad whenever there is a choice. English translation is also getting very sloppy.
