Yeah if I remember correctly, the Gaetz family was "only" upper middle class up until Matt's early twenties. Don Gaetz actually started a healthcare company that he sold in 2004 for half a billion. That may or may not be enough to buy his way out, I'm not sure. Subverting the legal system isn't an exact science.

Don Gaetz is quite wealthy. He certainly was wealthy enough to continually run for public office with no fear of his regressive beliefs hurting his personal life.

Honestly does not surprise me. With either of the accusations. The only way they can win, is cheat. And then try to blame Democrats of cheating, without any evidence at all, just so they can stay in power. Even trying to use other countries to help them get elected.
