Would you play the game WITHOUT LFR?

If Blizzard removed tourist mode from the game, would you continue to play it?

(if I knew how to make a poll I would.)

Haven't noticed its existence since WoD, not bothered by it. Nothing would change for me if they removed it.

Wouldn't affect me either way. Not user.

Plenty would, given the strong performance of Classic and BC Classic without the system in place. It's a moot point, though, because its primary purpose is financial: it gets enough return on investment for raid development that the team can continue justifying the resource glutton raid development tends to be in this game (especially in regards to demands on the art and encounter design teams). Retail pre-LFR was rampantly reusing assets and sharing raid maps with daily hubs to navigate a visibly-constrained budget, culminating in the shitshow of map and asset reuse (with minimal to moderate editing) that was 4.3, where the only new assets were Spine of Deathwing, Madness of Deathwing, and the leftover map and assets from War of the Ancients used for a dungeon instead. The Dragonblight map from within Dragon Soul was reused for one of the accompanying dungeons.

Come 5.0, and ever since (with exceptions for the front half of Siege of Orgrimmar and a couple other here and there), LFR got enough warm bodies that raid development was back in top form with unique maps, unique boss assets (that didn't get reused or weren't just PC models with the growth slider made super big), and plenty of shiny raid cinematics (barring the obviously-rushed 8.3 cinematic).

So as much as people would like to see it removed, it won't be unless the day comes Blizzard no longer views raiding as the pinnacle of their PvE progression curve. It provides too many benefits to the team and its impact, especially from WoD onward, is negligible at best on people outside the demographic of "Have a running subscription, a pulse, and the capacity to press 1-2-3 on a semiregular basis."
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!

Wouldn't change the amount I play really. I very rarely do LFR, it's existence doesn't bother me. Played before it was introduced and still playing after.

Did it last time in 7.3 for the lfr mog, which I love for priest. Well, some pieces like cape and shoulders anyway. If they removed lfr, I'd delete the game. For the simple reason that it'd be absolutely stupid and harmful thing to do, and a sign that they are not going to divert from the bad, stupid and harmful decisions path they've been on for a while.

Generally speaking, the audience that mainly uses LFR don't usually go to forums at all.

It'd be like asking if people could live without pet battles. Kinda the wrong crowd to poll for that.

lfr has never occupied my time to any real extent ever since its inception. Ive done it on rare occasions on alts when some legendary Qline encouraged it through past expansions.

I wouldn't notice it if it were gone. And thus it wouldn't affect my time playing at all.
None of us really changes over time. We only become more fully what we are.

    Not done any raiding.

LFR or otherwise for many years.

It’s a useless mode since M+ gives roughly the same ilvl for a lot less effort any way

Yes. Only time, when LFR was bearable - is back when it was released in Cata. Blizzard overtuned it too much in all future xpacks and then Pandora's box of progression via outdoor content was opened in WOD, so I switched to it. So, now I wouldn't play without good outdoor content. That's, what actually happens now.

    I don't care about Wow 11.0, if it's not solo-MMO. No half-measures - just perfect xpack.

Personally, haven't used it since WoD.

Nope, will gladly stay away. LFR is my endgame. If it’s gone or if it’s terrible like G’huun and N’zoth, I’ll just experience the game via datamined cinematics on YouTube.

why no poll? thats a thread nearly tailored to a poll. ?

yeah i'd still play, i only currently run lfr for xmogs.

I don't use modes below heroic... so it does not change anything for me at all...

I don't get why people still talk about it. LFR is here to stay. People use it. People don't use it.

It has no influence on anyone else. They don't get really good gear out of it (thnak god) so why would i care if it exists or not exists?

I would rather they would have never implemented it because it was the start of the entitlement era of wow but the cat is out of the bag. So juts keep it the way it is. Removing it would create more harm than good.

    MANY people "play" it.

2021, still advocating for the removal of LFR.

    Amazing.

I haven't touched lfr since Highmaul. Why the hell would you pay a sub to put up with that nightmare fun void?

Would you continue to play if Blizzard removed [feature that doesn't bother me at all]? No. Shadowlands sucks, with or without LFR.

First of all, "Tourist mode" is not a good word for it, as it functions for more than that.

Secondly, I would keep playing as LFR is not everything, but I recognize that LFR is a needed tool, and when I see newer players, I feel it has almost more value than one of the higher settings.
