These are professional front office people. They don't just throw their hands in the air when their first option falls through and go "welp, we tried nothing and we are all out of ideas".

This is just them playing dumb to not get stitched up in bidding wars for QBs.

EDIT: not that this will actually WORK mind, but at least it keeps the fan base expectations lower.

According to Berman, the 300-square-foot room in which Rodgers spent his time is a partially underground structure devoid of light, with a queen bed, a bathroom and a meditation-like mat. It is fully powered, and the lights can be turned on from inside the room.
