What gear do you have saved for 3.2.2 my fellow rets?

With 3.2.2 liberating us from T8 4 piece through the correction of the T9 2 piece bug what will you be swapping out?


I have the conquest T9 pants, replacing T8 pants(ilvl 219)

Replacing Ruthlessness with Darkstone Ring (needed ruth for expertise)

Wearing fists of Rising anger (iLVL 232) instead of T8 gloves (iLVL 219)


and if i get some more badges by then I can use my trophy of the crusade either on the helm or chest...can't decide which and am hoping for a faceplate drop.

Depends on two things:

A.) Your Current Gear
B.) Your Faction

Depending on these, some items will be direct upgrades (in case of point A) or BiS items (in case of point B).

yes, he should get the helm definitly. 4p t9 aint good, so i probably wont be taking that but get items in which i can increase my strength

Will be bidding on Helmet when the patch comes out (hopefully next week). I'd have the thing now otherwise but I'll save DKP for other stuff since having the T9 2 set is a dps loss over T8 4 set.

That pretty much sums it up. And okay, fine, so we have to wait for the patch. WTF is taking so long? They're updating Onyxia and adding in a couple of minor class balancing tweaks. That takes how long? The PTR for 3.2.2 has already been up for over a month. I can't imagine why it's taking so long. If it IS that big of a deal to put together that tiny little patch, then FFS hot-fix our set bonus.


With regards to what gear people are picking up, it sounds like an awful lot of people are talking about items that don't make sense if you're working towards BiS items. Take a look at this list:

There is a difference between upgrades in the now and BiS. For instance.... I had the Chest of the frostwolf hero (hit/haste 245 chest) and recently upgraded my weapon from aesir to Hammer of Crushing Whispers (small upgrade I know) so I was now way over +hit. Since the tier chest is crit/arp(both dps stats) its a dps gain for me to swap from a BiS (albeit lower version of it) to a chest I dont have on my BiS list. When ugprades come around that allow me to go back I will but tbph if a non-BiS item is an upgrade and you have no substantial reason not to make the upgrade do it.

There is no reason to chain yourself to the sheeplike mentality of a BiS list that doesnt make sense for where your gear is at NOW. By all means start collecting it but use what items are going to give you the best dps not just the items which appear on your bis list. '

Because if you have the Heroic 10m helm its has identical stats, and tbph the EJ list isnt perfect. Ive run the sim myself and my BiS list gets about 20 more dps, and doesnt use the shoulders...doesnt use the chest either but still. I take plot my upgrades as a "will it be a dps upgrade, no or later" and I choose dps upgrades NOW over dps upgrades later, because "later" it will be easier to attain those various items as more gear will have dropped and provided youre in a good enough guild to see the gear you want on your BiS list its no issue to attain those upgrades. It may not however be able to attain those items without putting to use the current gear you have available. BiS gear is for people who have the content on full farm and have their choice of the gear. If you dont have FULL access to every item on your BiS list it means absolute beans as BiS lists are tuned specifically to reach and not exceed any cap, while providing the highest possible dps items to accompany them.

Duh? You still need to have an end goal though. BiS is what you should ultimately be shooting for and you wind your way towards that goal picking up what you can along the way that makes sense. I keep a few old pieces of gear with extra hit or expertise to swap in and out as needed in case new pieces of gear require me to make adjustments.

My point was simply that you shouldn't be short-sighted in picking up new items.

Item A is a DPS increase for me today and I will be using it for a very long time.
Item B is a DPS increase for me today and there's a good chance I'll replace it next Tuesday.

Pick Item A. That's all I'm saying.

Why are so many of your guildies passing on Trophies? Are other class' tier as bad as rets, that they would pass them up? I think I remember our rogues not wanting tier, but thats it. Everyone else seems to be wanting their trophy. Granted, we're working on ToGC Northrend Beasts, so we don't have any Regalia peices for anyone yet.

seems that system have flaw if your item dont drop you end up getting no point from your raid :x
