New Uada, sounds like old Uada which sounds like Mgla so I'm sure it'll be a decent release.

So fucking excited for this release. Devoid of Light was one of my favorite albums in 2016, and this song sounds great as well.

One of the sickest vocalist I've heard in ages. Their 2016 album was also in my top 5 of that year.

His 'cleans' are amazing aswell. Raw, with full power, so much different than your usual shitty core bands. This is MDM the way I like it. His vocals at 1:50 are insane.

This came out a couple days ago, I've had my eye on this band for a bit. Blackened deathcore that doesn't fall into the tropes that make the genre bad, my first 5 on RYM in like 5 months. Absolutely floored by this album, best deathcore release in a decade and maybe the best deathcore album period.

I hated deathcore pretty passionately like 6 months ago and have a couple friends that love it to death. I forced myself to listen to something dumb like 200 dxc albums and was finally able to see the appeal in it. I still think it's an overall garbage genre, but there are some definite gems if you can manage to stomach them. I'll never hate on people that don't like it though

According to my RYM, Dingir and Lugal Ki En by Rings of Saturn are the only deathcore albums I ever fully listened to. I think Dingir is alright, it had its own ideas and a pretty unique sound. Lugal Ki En, however, completely failed to grab me.

I do enjoy some metalcore and mathcore though and I even generally like some screamo/post-hardcore stuff like Ostraca and Breach. To an extent, The Hirsch Effekt can also be considered post-hardcore/screamo and I love their second and third album.

Posthardcore is to deathcore what death metal is to k-pop.

I have to say, this comes as a bit of a surprise to me.
I heard of Ovid's Withering through this forum, loved it, and it never occurred to me for a second that they were deathcore.
It just sounds like tech/prog death or something to me, and similar to the comments of a few others here, deathcore isn't really my cup of tea.

There have actually been a few releases recently of bands that I was aware of, but hadn't been particularly keen on, that have changed my mind about the bands.

Yeeeaah, Inquisition is pretty fucked imo. I can separate art from artist enough to keep enjoying their music and probably pick up their records second hand, but I'm not going to financially support them in any way.
