"We do wish we could stay longer, but there's business to attend to in Stormwind..." the High General laughed as he walked up the stairs, following the Magistrate.
Brigitte, however, didn't follow.
She sat down at a nearby table across from Helcular's.
From her bag, she pulled out a small book, beautifully decorated in gold accents and blue sapphires.
She flipped through the pages before placing it on the table.
She sighed and rested her cheek on her palm.
The book didn't seem to interest her at all.
Helcular took yet another sip as the two of them walked up the stairs, quickly after he looked toward Brigitte.
It could impossibly have been cheap, but didn't seem very intresting..
What are you reading?
He asked while placing the mug on the table, trying to see the title of the book, however it was too far away to see.
The young brunette looked from her book, surprised and possibly unprepared to answer Helcular's question.
She lifted her book and looked at the cover.
"The Path of Righteousness IV" she read aloud, nervously.
Helcular kept looking.
She was the holy type..
He took a look toward the stairs, but they were still busy.
He stood up, leaving his almost empty mug and sat down at her table.
He took anotehr quick look at the book.
What is your name?
Her book made a tiny thud as she set it on the table.
Her nervousness faded, and she straightened her posture, displaying more confidence than she had before.
Their eyes met; hers, a subtle green in the soft light of the inn.
"Brigitte," she said in possibly the sweetest voice Helcular could have imagined.
There was a quiet, seemingly long moment.
Shortly after, there was a thud from the second floor, which made him regain his sense.
He released her hand, and leaned back in the chair.
How come i haven't seen you here before?
Brigitte shrugged.
"Perhaps because I've never been here before."
She slouched in her chair, leaning closer to Helcular.
"Usually when my father travels, I stay in Stormwind to continue my studies."
She glanced over at her book, then back at Helcular.
"But he convinced me that being away from the city would be... 'relaxing'..."
Helcular let out a moan.
I don't know about that, my last fishing trip wasen't really relaxing
if it even happend...
He took another quick look on the book, then looked back at her, watching her hair.
Stormwind.. that's a long way from here.
I have not.
There was another thud from upstairs, what were they doing?
I...
He said with a nervous voice, regaining his mind after the thud.
I have never left the area of Hillsbrad Foothill, have not had a reason to.
The ceiling creaked over them.
Footsteps and conversation could be head coming down the stairs of the inn.
"...Let us head back to the town hall to discuss the latest shipments."
"Brigitte," the High General called out.
She smiled at him as he appeared coming down the stairs.
As he reached the bottom of the stairs, the High General eyes the young man beside his daughter distrustfully.
"Come, Brigitte, you can continue your studies in the town hall."
Brigitte sighed as she stood, shrugging silently at Helcular.
She followed her father and the Magistrate out of the inn.
She looked back at Helcular as they exited and gave him a quick wink.
Helcular watched them leave.. a smile coming on his face as he saw her wink.
He sat there for a moments, thinking of what just happend, and without thinking, his legs made him stand and began walking toward the exit of the inn.
Upon leaving the inn, still with a smile, he saw the company entering the town hall.
He began walking toward the hall, almost running, not caring about his brother anymore.
He entered the hall, and could hear them talk, but not about what.
He decided to go longer into the hall and listen.
A few stepps later he reached the main chamber, he turned his head right, and saw the three of them talking, they haden't noticed him yet.
His smile returned as he kept walking, however the smile disapearing rather quickly as he walked right into a table in the middle of the room, grunting and hindering himself from leting out a yell of pain.
Helcular instantly looked toward them, trying to find a reason for being here,
Yes.. no .. i .. uuh..
He bit his lip as he tried to mask the pain from his leg.
He looked down on the god forsaken table as he saw something on it.
I was just geting a book i forgot... yes...
He grabed the book, and instantly turned around as he walked out of the room.
I shall disturb you no further...carry on.
He let out a relifing sigh as he got outside, trying to get rid of the pain..
Shortly after he lifted the book and looked at it... what was it anyway?
The cover was a dusty blue.
A title was printed on it, though it was barely legible.
After much effort, Helcular could recognize the familiar word, "Awakenings".
While inspecting the old book, Helcular hardly noticed a loose page fall from it.
Helcular saw the page slowly fall toward the ground.
He bit his lip as he quickly bent down and picked it up, if the Magistrate knew he riped out a page, he'd be in trouble.
He took a rather quick look on the page that had fallen out.. it didn't look like it was from the same book..
He took a quick look on the paper.
A quick read, and he was still as confused.
The paper had nothing to do with the book... maybe...
He open'd the book and checked... nope.. not same style.
He turned back and looked into the Town hall... they didn't have a clue.. he might aswell look deeper into the book and make sure... and have something to do.
He put the paper on the first page of the book, closed it and walked toward a quiet place where he could read it without disturbance..
A few moments passed as he reached a tree, he usually took naps here.
He sighted as he leaned on it, and sunk down, shortly after siting at it.
He began reading it, he ignored the lose page, and read what was actually part of the book.
At first he was unsure what it was about, but then it all got bright.
Magic, Death, immortality.... this book was about necromancy.
A long time passed as he was reading the book.
And in seemingly moments, it was evening.
