Yea, true. I just meant that you'd have no backing by law; They don't have to help you, but they can. It also depends on the individual salesman.

However, normal guarantee does, as well as a different sort of "guarantee" (called "reklamasjonsrett" in Norway). If it positively does not work and this is not due to user error...

At least that's how it works in Norway, but it could be entirely different elsewhere.

My P8Z68 Deluxe definitely really works. Harder to trade up giving them a broken board. Different cases, got lots of motherboards ;O

Regarding CPU cooling, I've always wondered why Prolimatech's Megahalems series aren't more popular and widely-seen. Equipped with the right fans it can out-perform a D14 while still maintaining a single-tower design, isn't that great? It was originally aimed at LGA1366 but was later equipped to fit 1156/1155.

The neat split-tower design of the heatsink makes it the #1 best cooler out there when you consider that it's significantly smaller than a D14 or Silver Arrow.

(I'm also in love with it. Literally. It's the most beautiful piece of metal I've ever seen.)

This. I saw the thumbnail and I'm like, "WTF?! Is that like lightning in the computer? Holy shit."

I knew it was LEDs but the way the picture was taken, the angles and everything, it seriously looks AWESOME.

Ok I may have exaggerated a little, it's difficult for a Megahalems to beat a D14 because D14 is one massive motherf**ker.
But it does come very close and it is possible to beat it if you load it up with 3000rpm Scythe Slipstreams (although it would get a *tad* loud).

IIRC, This was regarded the top-dawg before the D14 hit the Americas. Equipped with the right fans, so can NH-D14 though.
Can't be bought over here (or couldn't not sure atm), so I'm neglecting to pay heed to it normally.

While I agree that they have so much more potential when overclocked, I wouldn't say it's a good advice to give to people with brand new equipment.
IE, the voiding the warranty-parts. :P

So how long would you wait before you overclocked your brand new overclockable equipment?

Me? Unboxing->30min camera -> Mounting -> 30min making sure drivers work as they should -> overclock!
But I know what I'm doing. Or at least, that's what I'm telling myself. I wouldn't count on everyone doing it. And I would advice people reading up far more than they need before doing it, because after all, I want them to know enough about it that they not only know they are voiding warranty, but how to do it without needing the warranty. :P
