Yea I am going to college for spring semester in a few days, was wondering do people play wow in college or do they avoid it?
Edit: Plz answer as it may give me more incentive to play wow, as most of my RL friends ahve quit wow recently.

If you consider technical & community college a college, then I do. However, I stop playing once my subscription runs out so I can concentrate later on in the semester. I jump back in once the semester is over. Doing that will make me lose some seasonal achievements. ;s;
I started playing WoW after I graduated from college. I would've never gotten shit done had I tried. It all depends on how much free time you expect to have versus how much time you typically spend playing the game or jumping around your capital city of choice. If you play a lot and have for a long time, try to set goals of: "I will get my reading done while queue'ing for dungeons" or "I will only log on to get x,y,and z done and after that I will log off".

Our characters are wearing the same pair of underwear, since like, Level 1. Damn that's unsanitary as hell.
I knew someone who raided in my guild who was in college, so yes.
I currently attend college in Wisconsin, and i've been playing WoW since going to college. It's great to have when you've got downtime between classes or on the weekends (if you don't go out to party). Plus, I guarantee that there will be people you meet that play WoW (currently 6 people on my floor play wow, and we're all on the same realm).
Lol thats how I was in high school. Love being a dps some times, long queue are kinda awesome as I do my homework or study at that time lol, and chat with my friends. If you think about it its a a perfect combo, come home from school. stay outside till 6 and get on wow for 2-3 hours, homework done while I play wow and I ahve help from guildies too in homework.

I play wow while in college, sometimes I even farm in class.
In fact a large amount of the wow's player base is in college

I played all four years in college though I did have to cut back my play time a lot in the last two years because that was when I had the bulk of my hardest classes to get though. Basically if you are good at balancing the things you need to do vs the things you want to do then no problem. If this is something you struggle with than you should do yourself a favor and quit.
Studying for a master in engineering at a uni while playing. It all comes down to priorities and how much self discipline you've got.
I wouldn't be surprised if college aged kids had the highest % of their demographic playing wow of any age group.
How it will fit in varies what sort of college you go to. If its a community, tech, or something with you living at home, your wow schedule probably wont change to much, though you may have to cut back some. if your in the dorms, be prepared to be teased a bit about your wow habit, also expect to meet others that play.
BTW - dec 7th release SUCKS for finals.
P.S. - I play wow is not a good pick up line for a guy (on the otherhand, works for girls), try to leave it for something they discover at a later time.
Why don't you just play because you want to play? Why does it matter if other people in college play or not?
Though, I will tell you now, people will avoid WoW like the plague, but thats cause they more than likely HAVENT played it, ever. But those'll b the same people who once they get into it, they don't stop. I've seen it happen a few times.
University in the summer, i don't plan on leaving or cutting back on wow when i need to do work i shall do it when i dont i shall play wow.
You really think playing wow will hinder your grades? have you seen how often the majority of students that go out each night drinking? -.-
My advice, limit yourself to a particular time frame for playing.
I'm in college and I limit myself to weekends only. During the week, it's time for business (and browsing forums during lunch).
When the weekend rolls around, then is the time to goof off.
If you don't trust your self discipline, enable parental controls and ban yourself from playing when you shouldn't.
Of course, this depends on your course load.
If you are taking a bunch of slack classes, you can probably get away with playing evenings, but you still should enforce some time for work.
Also, like someone else said, once you get tired of farming and doing dailies during dps queue times, do part of an assignment.
At this point, it's like, geeee 45 min average wait time? Looks like I can do 4 or 5 economic analysis problems during that time. After each one, jump to prevent the afk disconnect.

Just because you are unique, does not mean you are right.
I started playing as an undergrad at a small university. A RL college friend played and got interested. I just finished up my Masters degree and I still play.
It is possible to play while in college, but I'd recommend doing PvP while in school since its not as time consuming or demanding. If you're into raiding, save it for breaks or summer.
Bold - I completely agree. I had finals that week and it sucked. The positive side was that I only had finals through Wednesday and then got the rest of the week plus break to play. Good stuff :P
Italic - My present girlfriend played WoW before I started going out with her and I got her back into it. Found out she had played by looking at some of her drawings and seeing a familiar face from Blood Furnace (The big floating dude). It went pretty well from there
Yea I experienced a lot of trouble starting cataclysm... Finals finished for me on the 9th so I had to start a couple days later.
Kinda evil to release right before finals for everyone
