Disc Priest Talent Recommend -Grace addition

    http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/to...40996?page=1#2

I made a thread of this on world of warcraft site but im placing it over here to see how the other priests on MMO champ feel about this

what i recommend is adding Atonement Heals to the Grace Talent
i say this since they are making it that the spell stacks onto everyone

So ive been healing heroics and Normals, and while ive been healing one of my main heals is the heal from atonement

at the start smite costs 3K mana but when you are at full 5 stacks of Evangelism lowers the cost to 2161 and also increases the ammount of damage it does which also makes it heal for more, thats only roughly 300 more mana then a normal Heal, in turn it Heals for more then Heal and takes less time to cast,

i know its not reliable to use if everyone is taking damage but i use my other abilities to pick up the AoE healing and ArchAngel at the 5 stacks gives me mana back and increases my healing done, but when everyone is being careful it is pretty reliable in keeping the tank healed, and i have talents put into surge of Light from the Holy tree so i can throw off free Flash heals

ether way id love it if atonement heals would apply the Grace spell onto the people it Heals

atonement sucks for anyone not playing shadow. relying on RNG heals is bad. spec out of it, cast heal like normal, enjoy success.

Atonement is extremely useful and is a top spell amung Disc priests right now for PvE...

    really....? but it's so bad......

good thing i don't pve at all, its a nasty gimmick of a spell that i was glad to be able to spec around

Gimmic yes, but it is a very powerful tool right now for Raids as it heals for a better ammount than Heal and is nice on multiple boss fights... have a disc priest just smite spam on the OT target to heal him while keeping up a small, but steady stream of DpS on it.

but its target is completely random?

  7. #7
no, targets lowest health player within a 8yrd range of the smite target for 100% of your damage

Atonement is actually really really nice in pve, pvp is a totally different monster for healing however. Don't knock it till you try it!

You don't PVE, but you're trying to tell people that atonement is bad in PVE? Just shut up.

+50 d-bag points for being rude on the internet.

    well done.

It probably wasn't the most tactful way of expressing one self, but I think you did a similar move in the begining when OP asked for advice on his specs, and you instantly saying he doesn't need it when in fact you know nothing of PvE disc priest healing. Two different posts, but same meaning overall...

i have no interest in the spell, i said so (not rudley). that guy was just plain rude.

edit: not wanting to derail this thread into a flame-war, i will stop posting, have a nice day

well I feel the overtone of your comment and the way you constructed them was a tad on the rude side... you could have stated,

I play PvP alot and I know Atonement is useless for me, but im not sure how it is for PvE.

A little offtopic question regarding atonement, ingame it says 8 yard range on the heal in the tooltip while datamining (e.g. wowhead and the like) say 15 yards. Can anyone confirm which of the following range statements are true? I don't really have any good way to measure it

for safe measures, unless you see a blue post saying the TT is wrong, which does happen quite often, I would stick with the ingame TT as it is probably the most reliable unless you go in game and test it on a target dummy or something from 15 yrds.

I did the dummy but for some reason I have a hard time to tell which is the closest, 8 or 15. I would need something to compare with... any suggestions?

Fly up a little and take some fall damage, I use Metahud and it shows my range from the target so I can see... take some fall dmg and see if you heal yourself at 15 yrds and get closer and closer til you do.

No. Please no. I cannot stress how irritating it is as a tank to look over and see the Priest healer attempting to Smite heal when you're taking considerable damage. Granted the smarter of the healers most likely won't do this.

As a raid healer on halfus heroic you're gonna want disc priests, believe it or not. For all other fights I play holy atm.

It's actually way better HPM and HPS than spamming Heal. Tanks are always taking "considerable" amounts of damage.
