Do it. Imagine the awesomeness and nostalgia that was gold/silver. Now picture that with better graphics, a female character option, a real safari zone, useful phone calls(joey barely tells me about how "cool" his rattata is, and most are battle requests or they give you items), more interactive events(like hunting ho-oh/lugia and suicune), fun gym puzzles, every legendary from g1 and g2 and a couple from g3, and a pokemon that can follow you(it can be anything!). And i now have this little ho-oh statue because i preordered it!

They are more like remakes of crystal than they are actually gold and silver. The main differences being that, instead of primarily hunting suicune, your still going for ho-oh/lugia in their respective versions and suicune is just a side event. There is also the iconic catachable pokemon version split. And for some reason they changed the female character to some other female with a big white hat.
This line is so awesome it deserves four gifs to tell it.
