    How come bosses die when above 0% ?

    I see several movies lately and on some first kills when it looks like a wipe ( usualy when 1-3 people are alive ) bosses tend to die when they have like 500k hp or even when they are at 2% hp, cases I remember now it's sinestra EU First ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qnc8o...layer_embedded ) and a lot of others.
    waren't they supose to die at 0HP like everything else ?

    It also happened in vanilla, tbc and wotlk.

    I think its some kind of server lag.

    in a 25m with 17 (give or take a few depending on the encounter) dpsers a lot of which probably have at least one form of a DoT up 500k hp can go POOF! in an instance, especialy with crits.

    Because pve is easy shit.

    soon I think some organisation thinks it's way too cruel to kill NPCs in a game and bosses will never die they'll always remain 1 % and then give you the loot you want, because little children who play this game may think you can keel people in real life DD

    I think it is just a combination of lag, dot timers, and more lag. I have seen it happen on dozens of occasions where the mob will basically die at around 1% or so and then dozens of others where you could not get that 1% to move if your life depended on it. Unless otherwise noted by a fight mechanic, you can rest assured that the boss does indeed die at 0hp even if your screen doesn't show exactly that.

    Clients a bit behind on the damage, especially when there is a burst of damage it takes a sec for it to register it properly. I am not sure why on the Sinestra film I saw it kind of died at 1% and half raid dead so couldn't have been burst of damage, but perhaps she is coded to die at 1% since she doesn't die but rather like kil'jaeden, retreat into the portal thingy.
    Tbh I checked Chogal and other bosses, they usually die at 0% but Sinestra "dies" on 1% because she just looses, not dies like most other bosses.

    Non-standard UI not being completely accurate combined with lag maybe?

    Client-server latency? What the boss's health is actually at server-side is not what you're seeing client-side.

    Hmm interesting point...

    After watching the speed of the boss going from 5mil to those 511k where achievement dinged there is no way couple dots critted for 500k.

    I am gonna guess some server lag.

    There's always a bit of server lag. My personal favourite was when my health went down to -250 on my screen, but I stayed alive.

    Most bosses die at 0%, some bosses like Magmaw makes no sense, however cho'gall heroic dies on an RP that starts on around 3 point something million.

    Well my very un-accurate theory is either

    If they go below 0 their body would disappear or cause bugs they dont want raid bosses to face (sometimes regular mobs bug out I think? Havent faced too many myself). Maybe some old mechanic they dont bother fixing in other way than making them "die" at 500k (tho we have had few 10k-100k wipes so who knows =/ )

    Or just plain lag..But 500k in "200ms" is quite a lot IMO =P

    They do it incase they might have to do a few set-backs in the future, without giving lorists(is that a word?) a slap .

    I think it is just an inaccuracy of the bosses actual health to the health represented on your Unit Frames (i.e. your raid frames show one health amount, the server registers a different health amount).
