Angry Words that annoy you when people say them wrong?

Area - Arena, not just playing WoW either, in real world life activities.
Aura - Aurora, I can't even fathom where this comes from. Mostly hear this in wow.
Turret - Turrent, where do they find the extra N? Lots of Online games, WoW, HoN, LoL, DotA etc.

    What are some of yours?

Edit: Loving all the replies, glad to see I'm not the only person. Just wish it would've stayed a bit more on topic.

    Especially - Expecially
    Escape - Excape
    Ask - Axe
    Comfortable - Comfterble

And, not a word, but a saying:
    All of the sudden

    Adding more:
    Asterisk - Asterix
    Cache - Cashay
    Et cetera - Exetera
    Mischievous - Mischievious
    Niche - Nitch

OH GOD I missed one of the most annoying ones:
    Integral - Intregal

Prestigious (it's prest-i-jus, not prest-ee-jus) is the first one that comes to mind.
    Epitome.

I'm sure I'll think of others.

    - You
    - You're
    - Yours
    - There
    - Their
    - Wait
    - Mate
    - to
    - Late

Generally all retarded abbreviations using numbers or just general laziness in using proper grammar and spelling. I understand most of the people on this forum aren't native English speakers (neither am I) but could anyone even just try? It's not hard, like you're going to do something special with those two seconds you saved when you didn't write whole words.

Edits: meh, now I realize you meant pronunciation, not spelling >_< Haven't slept for awhile and it shows.

Really? Well, here's a correction fer yas.......

[pre-stij-uhs, -stij-ee-uhs, -stee-juhs, -stee-jee-uhs] copied and pasted for your enjoyment, on behalf of dictionary.com.

Both are accepted phonetics depending on nationality...so ya.
(and who pronounces epitome wrong? Everyone I know either gets it or doesn't try).

In fact most of the words in this thread are simply different based on nationality but I digress.

    As for me:

    -melee
-affidavit (doesn't come up much in WoW but so many people treat it like affidavid)
    -Calvary (Calvry is proper pronunciation)
-People who treat X's as S's in every other word (there were some examples in thread already)
    -irregardless instead of regardless...so frustrating.

    I'm sure I'll add more.

It's cavalry, and it's pronounced cavalry.

I hear a ton of people say ep-uh-tome. >.> I know it doesn't make sense. I'm guessing it's mainly people who read the word somewhere and are trying to sound smart.

99.9% of the time that someone says calvary, they mean cavalry. Look up calvary, it's not something you'd often hear in common vernacular.

"Walmarts" when refering to a SINGLE store. Such as "Yeah, we were down at the Walmarts earlier" makes me want to respond with "Really, how many?" and just see the look of cunfusion on their face...

My family does this all the time, with any store that doesn't end in an 's'. It bothers me for some reason. Like, Kentucky's Fried Chicken.

Which is exactly why people frequently mispronounce it the rare time it does come up >.>. (The opposite is also true that many times people pronounce cavalry calvary and they're still wrong but whatever).

My bad, I'm just so used to that mistake that just about any time I see the word calvary I think they're trying to say cavalry.

Oh and your post reminded me of another couple:

It's not so much a word but when people say "I am doing good." or "You did really good." it just grinds my gears. It would be "I am doing well."

Actual mispronunciations don't annoy me much.

Is that sort of like "Me and Jane Doe will be going to the movies later"?
    Get that alot.
