No Team Fortress 2 thread on the first page? Outrageous! Here I fixed this for you.
How many people here, who play WoW also play TF2? One of my friends said that in the guilds he's in, many people play MOBA (LoL, HoN) - a PvP RPG/RTS. Which is similar to WoW in the sense that it's essentially the battle of characters rather than players. While TF2 is also a class-based two-team game, it's still less based on character stats, gear and leveling, and more on personal player's skills.
I also like TF2 better, compared to the latest generations of "military FPS" games. The game's pacing may appear a little bit slow to a person unfamiliar with it, because of larger health pools/lower damage or seemingly slow movement. But I think it's pretty loyal to the old school FPS games - no health regeneration gives advantage to players who knows the map and can control med kits, and also makes support roles like medic or engineer play a bigger role, than another trooper with a special gadget weapon slot; while run speed of some heavier classes (soldier and demo) is pretty slow, they are actually the fastest classes because of rocket(stickybomb)-jump ability, though you must have a certain skill to do it properly, or you risk find yourself in front of the enemy team on low health; headshots are restricted to sniper weapons (with exception of the Ambassador), so no more spray and pray random headshot kills; oh and no primary automatic fire guns too, also, there are plenty of projectile type weapons, which make you aim and predict the enemy position before you shoot.
Last but not least, though game is almost 4 years old, it's still being updated (currently 245 updates have been released). These updates include new maps, weapons, game types, community features and many more. And all of them are free, and since this June the game itself is also completely free!
So, feel free to discuss your favorite classes, maps, servers, loadouts or post stories from your multiplayer experience. New players are also welcome - ask for advices or tips for your class.
