    People going AFK in Battlegrounds.

All right, I am not sure how the AFK system works in Battlegrounds. I thought it was set so that if you weren't moving for a certain amount of time or if you were reported multiple times by different people that you would be kicked from the battleground. But this doesn't seem like it's the case. I was just in The Battle For Gilneas and there were two people afk they entire match. We reported them multiple times and I didn't see them moving but they got to stay the entire match. So if someone would please explain how the system works I would greatly appreciate it. Also if you have any opinions on what Blizzard should do to fix this that would be cool. Personally I think it should be set up that if you are reported multiple times by different people or if you are setting for more than two minutes, then you should be kicked from the battleground. Also I think if you accumulate up to five or so afk kicks from battlegrounds within a week then you should be banned for a week to a month from pvp account wide. I know it sounds somewhat harsh, but really, why do you need to be afk that many times in a bg anyways? If you have something important that comes up then leave that way someone else can come in to help the team.

After 5 min you get booted when you don't move. More then 3 people need to report a player to put inactive debuff on them which kick them after 1 min, if they don't do any damage to the opposite team.

People usully afk when the team is losing. Some just do it cause they hate random bgs and just want the honor for gear for Rated bg/Arena.

Edit: Sorry but made the text a bit more readable.

There are also many ppl who are paying those crappy chinese ppl to lvl up or farm honor for em... These bots are even more annoying cause you can't really report them as they just go in combat every now and then... But they don't stick to the game objectives... You should play some bg's in the early morning and you'll see

I don't know what it is about Battle for Gilneas, but I will often see people able to stay afk at the dock for the entire match (when multiple teammates are claiming they reported them) whereas in any other BG i see them removed from the group fairly quickly.

well i think its stupid.. i went to the loo and after that short period of time i came back on and got kicked within a minute... some people need to chill out in BGs imo ;p

You can't be reported for AFK in Battle for Gilneas, its been like this since release. lol.

To Breekjou, obviously it's not that simple if people are reporting people afk and it's not working. This isn't the first battleground that I've seen this happen though. And if it's been like that since release then it sounds to me like Blizzard needs to look at it. But I'm not here to argue or flame people, it would just be nice to go into a battleground and have everyone play instead of having botters and afkers. And I think there should be some harsher repercussions for people that do.

I personally think sometimes people are a little too eager to kick others from BG's. I was waiting in a queue for probably 10 minutes or so (can't remember which BG). When I got in I had just been questing and had to switch from arcane to frost (I'm a mage). In the time it took me to finish the cast and mana up I was booted. I think this is a little inappropriate, and people need to learn patience.

I can totally agree with you Legolasgirl. Stuff like that is completely unnecessary, and some people do need to show patience. But there is a big different between someone trying to switch specs and get their stuff in order, and people that just sit in one spot the entire match.

People that are AFK for a whole battle is annoying, but some of you PvP guys (I say that meaning those that like to report afk) should chill down.

I signed for random last night got it 10min later, started the battle, but then had to let in the cat, when I came back 1.5min later I was kicked out.

What legolasgirl explained have happened me 3 times, and it start to get really annoying..

So sometimes it doesnt work (this case its not fixd in battle of gilneas yet), and sometimes too good.

It's not the players fault, it's the game developers' fault as they have put literally ZERO incentive for their players to put effort and will into battlegrounds when they're lacking gear.

For instance, just last "rehashed wsg" bg, I got the first flag, then died, costing us the lead because my team were getting far too distracted by scenery and butterflies to kill the enemy flag carrier. However, I decide not to give up! 1:1 would result in a victory for our side so I go ahead and get the flag again. Fast forward 20minutes, I've killed a flag carrier while they had both our and their flag 5 meters away from the cap spot with their whole team stuck glued and riveted to the EFC, I've evaded, ran and annoyed the hell out of every hunter, mage, rogue and pally on their side of the team and what do I get as my reward? A loss? 2:2 in their favor? A scarce 20 honor when the bare minimum for a *single item* is 1600+?!

And here's what would have happened if I had done the clearly intended thing and read a book while moving my character five inches forward every 3minutes:
Average 100 or whatever honor per hour, extra honor because I was "defending" an objective and my internal nervous system would still be (mostly) intact. And I would have read a book to top it off.

The thing is. If you're faction is loosing BGs, there's no reason to continue battle or trying to win.
    1. If you win, you get 45 honor
    2. If you lose you get 15 honor
    3. If your team loose, but your trying to win like crazy, you loose about 10+ mins and get 15 honor.

Sometimes, when I see on Eye of the Storm something like 200 vs 1200. What i'm doing ? I'm taking flag and going to enemy base and dropping flag there, to let them win faster.

Arathi Basin. If you have all the bases, resources are double, which gives you a WIN for 30 secs. In this situation, everyone WINS. It's the fastest way to get honor. You que, you insta loose or win and get 45 or 15 honor for 60 secs
Anyone wants 15 honor per 60 secs ?

Another reason why ppl AFKing is that they poorly geared, there's no reason to them running around and get global'd

Im probably one of the guys leeching/afk-ing, and this is why:

I give it a honest go for the first few attempts, I have 3,2k res and skills so I can handle myself - but on top of that I actually TRY to kill the efc, I TRY to cap a tower/flag, I try to do the objectives. But when people dont give a honest F* about the objectives of the battleground I just tell em "thats it, /dance"... then I just equip my RP-gear and dance, making sure to enter combat if any useless pve-scrub zerging midfield try to report me.

If people actually would at least TRY to do the objectives, Id do the 110% mind melting. But Im not going to waste time and effort in useless kids still convinced honorkills gives most XP/e-peen.

Zerging flag in eots with no towers has to be the worst fail in any pvp-related situation ever. I cant even comprehend the amount of stupidness such a person must have. And usually its half the team. And ofc they start qq-ing when we lose. Its so stupid its not even stupid, its just sad.

To the people that are talking about how they afk in battlegrounds, I can't say anything against you guys cause you all had (in my opinion) had strong reasons and arguments. But I'm also seeing that you guys are saying that you try and when the rest of the team lets you down you give up, which really I don't see anything wrong with that. There isn't any reason to continue trying in a bg when you are getting rofl stomped by the other team cause your teams doesn't care right from the beginning. So I can agree with you there. But there are times when I bg that I know we would have won if people wouldn't have afked right from the start. As for the comment that there is no incentive to bg, I have to disagree with. I won't say that the honor system doesn't need to be tweaked a little bit, but I personally get enough honor to get the gear that I want. You're not always going to win and you're not always going to lose. But defeat is pretty much a quarantine when you have people that afk and just mess around the whole bg.

Agreed, I'm very geared and sitting around 3700 resil. I try to accomplish bg objectives and win, but no one else ever cares (They either suck, are afk, or are botting) Eventually I just stop and decide to not rez, and hopefully we can lose quicker and I can re-que. Rinse and repeat. Horde is just awful...I'd faction transfer if I didn't have a million toons.

They need to start awarding honor in arenas after you've reached the conquest point cap.
