GOTY: Skyrim vs. Arkham City

Had a bit of heated debate with a friend earlier over which game is better and more likely to win GotY; Skyrim or Arkham City (though it is possible both will get it). He claimed that Batman trumped Skyrim in graphics and gameplay and also said that there was at least 100 hours of game to play in Arkham City if you completed all the sidequests etc., and therefore could be comparable to Skyrim in the amount of content available. Personally I think that Skyrim has better graphics (though the character models are probably slightly worse), gameplay is too different to be comparable and that Arkham City cannot compare at all to the amount of content Skyrim has and the amount of time you can spend playing it.

So what's your opinion guys, which game is better? And why?

I haven't played either, but Skyrim does not look fun at all to me. So the other one gets my vote by default if I had to pick between those two. My personal choice would be SWTOR. SWTOR is one of the best single player RPGs I have ever played, and its an MMO!

You know there ARE other games. Uncharted 2 won GOTY, and Uncharted 3 is even better. Skyward Sword, according to IGN, is the best game on the Wii and the best Legend Of Zelda game, EVER(and that's no small statement).

OT: Skyrim will win, Much more anticipated than Batman.

Still waiting for Arkham City on pc, so i can't have an opinion yet. Although i must say i REALLY. really enjoyed arkham asylum.

Personally, I say Skyrim, but I've never played any of the Batman games (YET! I plan too...).

That said, why only include these two games? I sincerely hope Portal 2 is at least recognized, and I'd love for Catherine to as well, but there's no way that'll happen. =/

If I was giving GOTY to one of those games I honestly wouldn't be able to choose. Both of them are orgasmically amazing but cater to different crowds. I think Arkham City is a little more mainstream though so it should take the award just cause of popularity outside of the pure "gamer" market.

I realize this is Zelda we're talking about, but...isn't a little early to be speaking of a game being GOTY before it's been released?

Personnally I think Zelda will take the GOTY(scoring already 5 10s without even been offially released) it looks like a promising candidate with innovating controls.

Now if we are discussing about who is most likely to take it between ONLY those 2 then Batman takes my vote .

Reviews are already out and lets just say it's getting classified as one of the best games in history and best Zelda game.

True but Edge gave it a 10 too along with othere and that is very hard to score with edge.
