Hopefully it doesn't help him, or those other 3. Because they all deserve to be in fucking prison. Will they go there? Probably not.

    Heh.

It seems the right is trying the tactic "Biden is driving the world towards nuclear war" probably because, well, they're out of legitimate gripes.

The opinion page in question basically yells "But North Korea!" and then cites a bunch of...Hollywood movies.

They also mention the Doomsday Clock, which is the real reason I'm posting here. The current setting, 100 seconds to midnight, was set Jan 27th. Because COVID. It has not moved since.

Well, that's not true. It didn't change Jan 27th, it stayed the same Jan 27th. It changed three times in Trump's tenure, each time Trump was cited by name, and because of his actions we're now closer to midnight than the Doomsday Clock has ever been -- and that includes the Reagan years. And before anyone says anything, it dropped twice in Obama's tenure but those were climate concerns globally -- which Obama was trying to prevent.

It's not exactly Godwin's Law, but if you are left with "But Mad Max!" and blame someone objectively not at fault, it might be time to realize you've picked the wrong side.

If so, thank you, we really need to start posting it every time people start interacting with the pigeons.
I probably wasn't the first because they've been putting out new videos every month or two for a while now in that series, but I did post one earlier today.

While that particular video was particularly relevant where I dropped it, the others in the series are all really solid.

I saw that headline earlier, and my first thought was "this sounds like a load of crap." Then I read it, and noted it was curiously devoid of any specifics on anything Biden had actually done, or how we're any closer than the general state of "some countries are a bit uppity" that we've been in for the last twenty years, and said "this is definitely a load of crap."

For all the "this disease isn't real, it's a distraction from Biden's failures" I've seen on consocial media, it sure seems to be helpful if, say, you don't want to go to jail for murderous insurrections or don't want to show Arizona you found no fraud.

Google technically does own those emails - and if ask, or more accurately, subpoenaed by a lawful body, they will turn them over. The issue will be resolved in the court system, and unfortunately we'll be seeing the GOtrumP fighting to hide them while the 2022 election possibly turns the House over to them - at which point the Committee will be terminated.

I want to be optimistic here, but I can't, given the whordes of people who still back the Murderous Insurrection and continue to pump horse medication into their bodies while decrying...oh fuck it, I could go on and on. Suffice it to say I don't see a happy ending here.

    Guilty.

A college student from West Virginia who was seen taking a “Members Only” sign near the Senate chambers after entering the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 with supporters of former President Donald Trump pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count Monday.

Name Withheld of Hurricane, West Virginia, entered the plea by conference call before a federal judge in Washington, D.C., to a charge of knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds. Other charges were dismissed in a plea agreement with prosecutors, including one count of theft of government property under $1,000.

She faces up to six months in prison and a $9,500 fine. Sentencing was set for Nov. 16. She remains free on a personal recognizance bond.

Name Withheld, a mathematical economics major
    *gags*

at the University of Kentucky, initially bragged that the occupation of the Capitol was making “history” and said she thought “it was cool,” according to an FBI affidavit in support of a criminal complaint and arrest warrant. Later, she deleted her Instagram account.

Name Withheld, who was 23 when she was charged, was inside the Capitol for 24 minutes, prosecutors said. According to the affidavit, a witness who saw a video of Name Withheld in the Capitol messaged her on Instagram asking if she was there. The witness provided a screenshot of the messages to the FBI.

The witness expressed embarrassment after Name Withheld admitted she went inside, according to the FBI. Name Withheld allegedly wrote, “I’m not embarrassed so you shouldn’t be.”

When the witness accused her of treason, Name Withheld said she did not know what treason was, according to the affidavit. Before Name Withheld deleted her Instagram account, she wrote, “Infamy is just as good as fame. Either way I end up more known. XOXO.”
Serving time in a federal prison to troll the libs. Oh, and she's being kicked out of school. I'm sure it was worth it. Well, it's a misdemeanor now, she's getting of whitely.

    Monday's quickie report:

119,642 new cases (slightly more than last week); 569 deaths (Florida didn't report any), bringing the total to 656,393. I've read that hospitalizations are going down in some areas of Florida, so maybe they're finally through the worst of it, not that we'll ever know the true impact COVID has had there. Fuck Florida.

    Stay safe, folks.

Since Friday a judge struck down DeSantis mask ban ban -- did we post that? I think that would have made the list -- more than half of Florida students now attend a district with a mask ban.

It's 10 districts, two more just got added, but those include the largest districts in the state.

It's also worth noting that Biden announced an investigation into mask ban ban states on the grounds of that's stupid suicidal bullshit, but that investigation won't include states where the mask ban ban was blocked by a court. DeSantis has promised to appeal but that hasn't happened yet, so right now, the most dangerous state in the country is getting a much-unneeded break.

Don't worry, there's a tropical system forming off the coast of Africa that might have Florida in its sights. We've been fortunate with hurricane season so far, but there's no guarantee that luck lasts...

Former President Donald Trump’s political fundraising operation reported paying more than $4.3 million since the start of the 2020 election cycle to individuals and firms that organized the Jan. 6 rally that preceded the attack on the Capitol, according to a report published Monday by the government watchdog OpenSecrets.
The full extent of the Trump-linked funding and organizational support for the Jan. 6 rally is not yet fully known, but the report reveals a powerful push funded by Trump backers to deny the results of the presidential election. And more may be discovered soon as the House select committee investigating the Capitol insurrection begins a deep dive to uncover the players behind the day’s events, their activities and those who funded them.
    Whoops.

And yet, I doubt Trump will ever see justice for what he's done to this country. And what he will continue to do.

Apparently Trump is a fan of forever wars?

In his eyes we should demand all the equipment we left behind back, or $85B (literally made up number, FYI) in cash for it that Afghanistan doesn't have.

    The consequence for failure?

Send in the US Military to take it. Or "bomb the hell out of it", both of which I'm sure will cost FAR LESS than the $85B and will totally benefit the US by...uh...boosting defense stocks?

I guess the guy who was for AMERICA FIRST and against expensive foreign wars is not so AMERICA FIRST and is more of a fan of expensive foreign wars than he told us. How could he lie to us like that.

Sounds like a Trumpian deal to me. The equipment is unusable.

The Biden administration has faced intense criticism over images of the Taliban seizing billions of dollars worth of U.S. military equipment supplied to the Afghan security forces, which collapsed as the U.S. withdrew from the country.

"[The Taliban] can inspect all they want. They can look at them, they can walk around, but they can't fly them. They can't operate them," Kirby told CNN.

"We made sure to demilitarize, to make unusable, all the gear that is at the airport," Kirby said. He added that the only items left operable were "a couple of fire trucks and some fork lifts" so that the airport can get back up and running.

"We are not overly concerned about these images of them walking around," Kirby added.
I mean, even scrap metal is useful, but the Pentagon is on record, saying publicly, that's all it's good for.

There's more from WaPo but it's not worth the paywall (learn from my mistake).

I looked, I couldn't find the origin of $85 bilion. It wasn't Trump, he probably saw it on Piers Morgan, but he's not the origin either.

Bruh, the Afghan army had Black Hawks, too, and something tells me they didn't scuttle the tech before they bounced, like the US military did. If the video is real, then look at the likely culprit.
