My biggest issue with the "Night Warrior", will always be why it wasn't used during the War of Ancients, War of Shifting Sands or even the Third War - all of which were apocalyptic events. Instead it was used to fight the Horde is a war they were already winning.
Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann
it's just a character rebranding to explain why Tyrande is now angry all the time, as if setting Teldrassil on fire and killing civilians wasn't already plenty of good reason
they super didn't need to explain it as a power up
The main thing with the Night Warrior that everyone's rightly beat around the head since it was introduced is that it isn't a power change or an attitude change.
Regular Tyrande could fry ghouls and undead en masse in Warcraft 3 and almost offed Saurfang with ease as late as Battle for Azeroth's pre-novella. Night Warrior Tyrande can tie or be slightly superior to an empowered Nathanos, then beats a Nathanos of dubious power 1v1 in a melee fight and is unable to stop his soul from escaping to the Maw. Her greatest achievement is beating some angels Jaina slaughters by the truck load later off-screen. Amazing.
Regular Tyrande freely attacked Horde and Alliance for tresspassing on her domain and killing Cenarius and was only talked out of it later at a press. She's pussied out since then, but she was already applying collective guilt in the Garrosh trial. She killed Wardens for guarding Illidan, which is the whole purpose of their order. Night Warrior Tyrande doesn't attack anyone except Horde combatants who were already waging a total war and only pacifies their main officers instead of killing them. She sulks off at the end of said war and when given a chance to kill an undead Warden who kills people for laughs, she lets her go.
Yet at all turns and at all times the narrative goes on and on and on with how Night Warrior Tyrande is somehow both extreme in mentality and extreme in power. This is one of two things - either tell, don't show on a colossal scale, as it is up until now, or the same backwards reasoning employed in such standout storylines as Sylvanas in BFA or Daenerys in GoT, where the characters react to things that have yet to happen with the foreknowledge that they'd take place on a meta level without the in-story reasoning to back it and will retroactively be proven so. I lean more towards the former, because even an Alliance B-list character hasn't turned evil since Benedictus.
Dickmann's Law: As a discussion on the Lore forums becomes longer, the probability of the topic derailing to become about Sylvanas approaches 1.
Tinkers will be the next Class confirmed.
this.
The Night War feels like a filler excuse to try to stop Kaldorei Fans from leaving en masse and at the same time an excuse for not really giving us anything. Not something that is really part of the Lore.
At the end of the Day Tyrande managed to heal from the night war and will not have gained anything. At the same time we will not have had a revenge or a Recovery arc of the Kaldorei. But at the same time we're going to be sick of Tyrande having screen time.
They could remove all this from "The Night War" and have the exact same story and it would be much better to my liking. Or that the "night war" is just a Title.
I'm personally not moved by Tyrande as a character. I lost interest in her in MoP. For a person as long lived and experienced as her, she's shown a great deal of immaturity. Same can be said by many of the elven characters but it is what it is. The whole story arc hasn't been that appealing to me, it's similar to the Alleria void thing. With that said, imo i don't think it's some nefarious agenda that the writers are doing, i just think they thought it would be cool to have an answer to Slyvanas crimes. I just don't know how they would do that better? I don't think Tyrande going about one shotting Nathanos in Darkshore would do anything to appease what happened in Teldrassil. Idk, imo it would have been better if they had reserved this arc for a later time where Tyrande gets her revenge on Slyvannas.

They made 2 massive mistakes with Night Warrior.
1. Its just too animesque "I need more power" plot device to make character "stronger".
2. Tyrande was horrible choice. If they really wanted to turn nelves around, they should had killed her and installed new character rather than trying to fix something that is broken beyond repair.
It is truly terrible when you realise that just over a decade ago she and her 10,000 years worth of Night Elf forces alongside a small holdout of Human, High Elf and Dwarf refugees and a disorganised assortment of Orcs, Trolls and Tauren went toe to toe with a full blown demon invasion supported by countless scourge and her people held the line longest and delayed the demons advance for the calculated sacrifice of their most precious landmark and artifact and still didn't need this Night Warrior crap even when Elune's assistance appeared waning.
And this is even without considering the fact that over 10000 years ago they still didn't need it or even consider it. Oh but chasing after one spicy dead broad and her pet hunter for an eternity and ensuring a singular zone could be reclaimed and potentially being overpowered into death as a drawback of the bargain? Sign her right up.
Exactly, given they created Shaladrassil, Teldrassil is virtually irrelevant save for levelling nostalgia.
But what ever floats their boat to make the nightiest night elveness night state of all.
All hail the night warrior the Highest or nightest state night elveness ness ness to the upteenth degree of ridiculous stupidness - I mean night elvenness.

That happened in the past, it’s obsolete if it didn’t happen in the current expansion.
Old
Lore doesn’t matter. Half of shadowlands would be re written and retconned by the next expansion. We all suddenly forgot all the previous garbage for the new garbage.
It's odd that Tyrande gurl never thought of invoking this Night Warrior crap even in the direst of situations, such as the War of the Shifting Sands or the Third War, but she did invoke it in this so-called Fourth War - albeit not when defending Darkshore from the Horde onslaught (she was conveniently afk in SW), but when she already had the upper hand.
Everything is sooooo stupid in this regard
From what ive gathered from the quests, and the ardenwield stuff, the night warrior thing isnt one big extra dump of power, but like a slow feed of power getting more and more until you can complete what ever it is that you asked for that power for. And worse in a way is screws with the persons head making them super focused on completing there task/revenge or what ever.
But at some point she will have more power than her mortal body can hold and basicly Pop.
Why no, people don't just like Sylvie for T&A: https://www.mmo-champion.com/threads...ery-Cinematic/
