So it seems you need to have ley-line gliding by the end of raid wing 3. An interesting choice, and I'm looking forward to see how it pans out in the encounters.

Nice of them to give people a heads-up on it since it actually takes some effort to get through that one ><
Seems...odd. I say that due to recalling how there were so many tears shed over needing Itzel Poison Mastery for several of the hero points out in the new zones, or something to that effect. Moral of the story, "requiring" mastery unlocks to make progress wasn't too warmly accepted...but then again, if there's no content in the game that makes any of the masteries a requirement, then why bother doing anything? It can be called hamfisted, I suppose, but it's one way to get people to play the new areas and what not.
Perhaps it's gonna be something fancy cool in there. Even though I haven't played GW2 in a while, I'd rather be optimistic.
From what I understand, the problem with Poison Mastery is that it was seen as a really high, hard gate (i.e. it completely stopped you from progressing in the story of HoT) for the content it was applied to. The story chapters by themselves are supposed to be fairly accessible to players (currently, I think you need gliding, updrafts, and bouncy mushrooms to finish), with the achievements meant to be the 'hard mode' stuff.
Raiding is supposed to be one of the endgame PvE progression things, so requiring people to have this or that mastery to progress through given raid encounters (be it a hard requirement or just making the fight easier) doesn't bother me that much.
This is what people still don't understand about mastery. IT IS A PROGRESSION SYSTEM YOU WERE SUPPOSE TO BE BLOCKED OFF AND THEN YOU PROGRESS TO GO FARTHER. If it wasn't mastery in this game it would of just been a level increase in another like WoW.PvE progression
oh no t3 raid needs you to have mastery..... shocker

I received a day one ORAS demo code. I am a chosen one.
Only 5 players on the raid are required to have it AFAIK, so it's not much for any raiding group, plus dailies give mastery exp, adventures give massive ammounts of exp, you can do HP trains and metas reward lots too C:
Cod has a new campaign, new weapons, new multiplayer levels every year. Zelda has been recycling the same weapons, villains, and dungeons since the 80's. Zelda recycles enough to make cod blush. The same weapons, villains, dungeons, and princess in every single Zelda for the most part. It's almost as cheesy as bowser vs Mario round 35
I'm actually happy to see further inclusion of masteries in raids because it open more variability in what sort of encounters they can design. Of course some people will be mad but some people will always be mad no matter what.
