Alliance "Extra rewards and experience for players who turn on PvP"

Why is Blizzard trying to force PvP down the throats of people who just don't want it? I couldn't care less about PvP, I just wanna do the PvE content personally, but in Battle for Azeroth it seems that if I want the best possible reward and outcome I NEED to be PvP enabled.

Now, this wouldn't be too bad... If it weren't for asshole players who like to fuck with other people for no other reason than to be a dickweed. Let's say you're in, I dunno, Stormsong Valley. You're level 111, just doing some quests, going about your business, wishing the Vulpera were an allied race, when suddenly a band of three or four 120's who know that everyone in the zone are gonna be marked for PvP, rush in and start killing them left and right, camping corpses, ganking them because they like being assholes. Hell, Blizzard will even ENCOURAGE ganking considering at 120, you'll be able to visit the opposite faction's island. And ONLY at 120. So basically, while leveling, they're asking you to level while being harassed by 120 Horde/Alliance players who want to be assholes for the sake of being assholes.
The only way to solve it now would be to turn off "War Mode" until they get bored, or some of your own faction's 120's come and fight them off.

THEY ARE PUNISHING PLAYERS WHO PLAY THE GAME HOW THEY WANT TO PLAY IT.

This is like if Blizzard said, "Alright from now on, only Warlocks can be Afflic spec, and if you don't play Afflic spec, you will not recieve Warforged or Titanforged gear and will recieve a -50% attack speed."

It's like that whole shit with dailies in Warlords. They boasted about "Oh, everyone loves doing Dailies so much, it's practically all they do!" because that was all there was to do! It's gonna be the same with Battle for Azeroth, Blizzard instates that players who turn on PvP will get better rewards and experience, they'll brag about how "PvP has seen a sharp increase in popularity" when, in reality, those numbers are artificial. Of course when you force players to turn on PvP to get better rewards, they're going to fucking do it. But will that mean they LIKE it? No, the same people who didn't like PvP before will still hate it, the same people who liked it will still like it, and people on the fence will lean to one side or the other eventually.

So I guess I'll see you all in Battle for Azeroth, hiding in a Graveyard while a group of 120's abuse Blizzard's "brilliant" ideas.
Isn't it fitting WoW really took a nosedive after 'the Cataclysm'?

because without this why would anyone ever turn on WPVP?
you either turn it on and get the bonus for giving up time to getting ganked and killed, or you leave it off and get less exp,but also dont need to worry about wasting time to corpse walk.

I much rather do content normally without an EXP boost and extra gold/azerite, then having to do content with an exp boost+ extra gold and aze4rite, well ALSO having to worry about getting ganked.

so maybe you just need to learn about equal trade?
    more risk=more reward

I personally like the more fair pvp route, and I'm happy that I can have my carebear fun with it turned off, and then once I am ready at 120 to go into rando bg's, and rated arena, I'll queue for them.

I never liked world pvp, and I don't think I ever will

Turning it on ASAP and leaving it on for good.

Unless they fit it with more specifics it's going to be interesting. Three examples

    A. At launch, no max level players to gank you, very likely people will take the chance to do it because it's less likely to get "gibbed" but you still have the full population all leveling so lots of fair fights.

    B. Rogues, Night Elves (Druids especially after flying happens), anyone who can stealth still has a major advantage.

    c. Tanks/OP classes, unless templates are changed somehow tanks will still be stupid in WPVP.

I just don't see this meeting their goals, I think it's going to be a clear "meta" of who turns on WPVP and who doesn't.

I'll level up in a group and only engage when engaged, and do max level content with PvP on.

It will be fun! More rewards are fun!

Because we all know only a bunch of ganking retards liked world PvP, except some rare occasions here and there. They'll probably have to throw in Max Titanforged rewards for it to take off.

But yeah, this basically proves that objectively people were NEVER keen on world PvP.

Those two times you were in a full-blown battle a decade ago doesn't really mean you were World PvPing on a regular basis.

They aren't forcing you to do shit. This is for people that like to do PvP and the extra rewards are compensation for lvling being overall slower when you're getting attacked. If you're being griefed, you can turn it off. I don't see the problem. You seem to want everything without having to participate.

The team isn't 100% sure why players are hesitant to engage in PvP combat
    Fucken lol.

The team is baffled why players don't want to put up with that shit while they're just trying to play the damn game. "Maybe if we throw in extra experience so they level faster and can be done dealing with it sooner? I'M JUST THROWING OUT IDEAS, JERRY!"
The reports of my death were surprisingly well-sourced and accurate.

From the post on the home page it seems like they take into account the scenarios of questing with world pvp. The bonus exp is so people with the toggle on dont fall to far behind poeple without the toggle because they are spending more time not questing.

I doubt it will be such a rediculous increase that it would make leveling in pvp significantly faster, expecially with the inherant delays.

They aren’t sure why players don’t want to participate in something as awful as world pvp?

Dragonslayers are actually gonna flag just for useless crap while leveling? I'm legitimately surprised. And glad. Main thing I loved about WPvP was helping other Allies in need when scummy horde tried to grief them. So the more carebears the better, you all will make nice bait.

  15. #15
Will this affect dungeon/raid loot at max level? Because if no, then any minor boosts to questing are largely irrelevant.

Oh, noes. They're "forcing" me to PvP for an extra 10% EXP gain. The sky is falling!

    ...Give me a break.

wPvP was never meant to be balanced honorable duels. Thats what instanced pvp is for. It's all about the constant threat of dying and being ganked and bullied by enemies that outnumber and outgear you. I absolutely love that kind of a world even though usually I'm the one getting the short stick since I play alone. It makes surviving and sometimes getting revenge all the more sweeter.
I understand thats not for everyone and thats what PvE servers are for. What I dont understand is this toxic 'I dont like it so no one else should be able to do it, even though it doesnt affect me' behavior.
Blizzard placed themselves in a difficult position with this decision to remove PvP servers - if the incentive they offer to keep PvP on is too great they're fucking over people who dont wish to do any PvP. If the incentive is not good enough they would completely kill all wPvP. Being able to turn off PvP changes the interaction and risk for no reward just doesnt work in MMO's. Would anyone do mythic dungeons if you could get just as good gear from heroics that are faster and easier?
Hopefully this new system fixes the server balances, there are only couple of servers where alliance-horde ratios are close to 50-50 while most being 99-1.

I don't care, as I won't flag myself, no matter what.

    I don't care about Wow 11.0, if it's not solo-MMO. No half-measures - just perfect xpack.

I'm not at all concerned about extra rewards, but HIDING GROUPS MADE BY PEOPLE WITH DIFFERENT PVP STATUS in the group finder is not ok. I don't give a fuck if the leader of a heroic raid pug wants to PvP or not.

Group finder will only list groups with players that have the same War Mode toggle state as you.
