Update the city finally Blizzard.

I’m a little disappointed they didn’t divert the story of destroying capitals to Exodar/Silvermoon. It would have been the perfect reason to update those cities/zones.

It is possible that they have to redo parts of Silvermoon or update it as a hole because of the the Heritage Armor Scenario.

We do NOT need this city updated. Why? So you can afk in it? Huge waste of resources and art assets just to please a few fanboys who think it would be cool to have another city nobody needs to have. just to visit it once and say 'ooh pretty' andor afk in it doing nothing.

While I agree it probably won’t get updated, I doubt that has anything to do with it. It’s like saying Darkshore won’t get updated because they would have already done so for the War of Thorns

Updating Silvermoon would be extremely ambitious for a content patch. Especially since they would likely have to add the Quel Thalas zones to the EK zone server

You would have a bunch of game and art connoisseurs explaining in deep detail how much shit it is, some requesting the old version to be put back in its place while that one angry chinaman would furiously work on a mod that would replace the old assets for the new ones and then in a span of two weeks, it would be forgotten by most, only visited by few (E)RPers on select realms.

As a BE player I would love to see it updated/fixed.. but you know, I haven't set foot there in a very very long time.

It's completely out of the way, there's no real reason to go there. UC works/ed as some kind of crossroad with the zeplins and stuff. Even thunder bluff, the only reason I end up going there is for darkmoon faire.

In order for them to sink resources into it I would think the only viable option would be for them to give a reason to actually go there which I simply do not see happening. Orgrimmar is just too convenient. New expansion hubs continue to be too convenient. Dalaran is still too convenient.

My feelings tho.. It just doesn't make it justice that we have such a glorious city in Suramar and Quel'talas/Silvermoon is just so tiny and pointless.

In all honesty, I'd be fine if they just removed the Kael'thas statues and the TBC dialogue from NPC's and left the city as is, adding small updates to reflect new lore, such as the Nightborne tourists.

The thought definitely occurred to them, as it was present in those alpha strings found two weeks ago.

But given how old those strings were, that's all it was. A thought.

As of now they used resources to just update uthers grave...for nothing so..why not. And on the other side the grave looks stunning now!

As much as I would love to see a graphical and logistical update to Silvermoon to bring it in line with the current lore developments, it is such a massive project in of itself that the only reason it would get one is if it played a major role in upcoming content. But being as nothing thus far datamined has even hinted at such a major role, I do not think we will see anything anytime soon all the time it is little more than a race's starting Quest hub. Sad but true

What? There's been so many drops about "Blood Elves belong in the Alliace" and one of the datamined strings was for a Silvermoon Warfront. If more of these types of things keep occurring then it could lead to such a thing, don't lose hope!

Don't think there's a reasonable business case to justify the cost of artist hours?
No one actually has ever used to city for very long. Not even when it was current content.

That's my point - a graphical overhaul is a massive project so all the time it's not going to be used for anything major in the current content, it is simply not going to be worth the time and focus of doing.

That Silvermoon Warfront is not happening as far as we know because the only Warfront that's actually coming to fruition is in Darkshore, and that's not even until 8.1 which we don't have a release date for yet. Sure, there's always the possibility that something may change in the future but for now all we have is some Silvermoon Guard revamps...and that's literally it. I will of course hold out hope like you say, but it's going to need a lot more to go on to warrant a wholesale redesign sadly
