This is what's wrong with modern WoW

From a post on the official forums:
We’d like to note a difference between the Shadowlands Beta and the live game that you’re going to experience later today.

On your first character to explore the Shadowlands, you will not be able to queue for a Shadowlands dungeon if you haven’t yet restored access to that dungeon’s zone via the main quest campaign for that zone.

For example, while Necrotic Wake will be available the moment you depart Oribos (when you first reach the Shadowlands), you’ll have to complete the Bastion campaign and reopen the way to Maldraxxus before you can queue for the Plaguefall dungeon. You’ll then later unlock Mists of Tirna Scithe and Halls of Atonement as you complete their associated campaigns.

On subsequent characters, all dungeons can be made immediately available to you via the Threads of Fate system.
No. Quit telling us how we can play. Look, I quest up. But if someone wants to spam dungeons, that should be their choice. Modern Blizzard keeps trying to control how players play and it's not only unneeded, it's insulting and off-putting.

I remember when old school Blizz let you que up from anywhere.

    Wait....

Yeaaaah no. It makes perfect sense to need to unlock a dungeon before you can waltz in and actually complete it. It makes zero logical sense to be able to just start queuing tor dungeons your character doesn’t even know exists.

This is definitely something they should have implemented the day LFG teleporting you straight in became a thing.

    Damn bro...

It's almost like you have to play the fucking game. Also, leveling is so damn fast now. It's not even funny.

The people that complain about this arent even going to queue for dungeons while they level because their favorite streamer who make up all their opinons, have told them its not the most optimal thing to do.

Not sure about your point - in prior expansions, I could queue for the entry level dungeons right off. I did, several times, because friends would want to check out the expansion but the starting zones would be crowded so we'd do a dungeon or two.

Not the point. The point, which you utterly missed, is that they keep trying to tell you how to play. "No, you can't do this dungeon because you didn't do the zone quest yet". Why do that? They're controlling HOW you 'play the fucking game'.

See, retail only has yes men. You love everything Blizz does. It's kind of sad.

Nah. It' speople that really dislike questing. I think I just got friendly with every faction in BfA for world quests (that I barely did, just when I needed a specific item while gearing a character). Didn't touch Mechagon/Nazjatar. Did the bare minimum to get the Cape.

Leveled 12 characters to max (every class) with BGs and Dungeons, I remember also doing 110-120 on Warrior just with Island Expeditions. Slow, but fun for me.

Questing makes me want to quit the game. I can read up on the lore/story, watch the cinematics elsewhere. But "Kill x ammount of this mob!" and "Collect Y ammount of this item"? Hard pass. I rather spend my time doing something else

hope the campaign is short enough in SL.

And for the record, the only streamers I watch play Hearthstone and Among Us.

Now use that argument for people who want blizzard to control how they level. Blizzard killed fun again and people like you keep defending them. Levelling so far has been pathetically boring. The amount of standing around waiting for NPCs to finish their rants has wrecked this game. Worst XPAC ever.

Ye I will defend Blizzard when they stick to what worked in previous expansions with some refinement according to player feedback.

Good thing Blizzard tell people how to level to be honest. The counter argument is that people know how they best enjoy the game. Its quite clear to me on the amount of complaining, that they don't. Finally this reality has caught up to Blizzard.

Also. Ever considered this game is not for you anymore?

More like its problem with small subset of players and their Karen mindset they want everything for free without giving even a slightest amount of effort

Very cowardly to spring that on people only a few hours before launch.

Ahaha, I expected something, but that even surprised me. Blizz puts story before everything in these cases just like in older expansions where you couldn't queue shit and enter dungeons in different zones that ought to surprise you. Of all the "modern wow is bad" post, this must be the weirdest.
WoW players are all trash? M+ leavers? Pug raid fails? You don't have stuff to do? WoW has become a solo player game for you? People don't talk anymore? Everyone's toxic? I have a simple solution, just for you!

I have no problem with this. Happy SL launch day people. Having fun here.

Players: noooooo!!! Blizzard don't tell me how to play

Also players: I remember when WoW didn't have queues for everything and you had to travel to a summoning stone

In other words, Blizzard must never do things that I disagree with personally.

Sucks when somebody else beats you to the non-existent, pointlessly pedantic anti-Blizzard circlejerk, eh?

What’s with this “don’t tell us how to play” crap any way? The game has always told you how to play rather it be attainments quest requirements or a thousand other other little locks here and there since vanilla.

Well, you see, on the internet it's perfectly reasonable to expect billion dollar gaming companies to capitulate to your every whim.

lol dont tell you how to play??why not?they made the game and they set the rules, you either like it or not and play it or not,get over it,you are not the center of the devs world

more on topic,i feel its more natural to need to get to the point in the story where accesing the dungeon makes sense, dunno how the necrotic wake dungeon story works and why people can que for it from the start....

ofc i am also of the opinion that they should add some dungeons that have no main/special story zone linked with them....have some dungeons just be random places you find or whatever that can be accesed instantly

i do find it kinda funny how we follow these breadcrums in bastion to find out what happened and we see a shadowy figuer in the quests, and we see devos helping us and then you just read about her in the journal as shes a boss lol,its kinda hard to do storytelling like this with mystery in a game that just spoils it like that
