When I first saw the timeline "we are on day 5 and a lot of people are dead", I thought that maybe the gimmick would be that we are working backwards. Like, rather than a dwindling playerbase as the game goes on and players are killed off, instead maybe we have an increasing playerbase as dead players are resurrecting and brought into play, and that maybe scum win if enough of their team are resurrected so that they outnumber town or something, and that the scum team is very big.

The other possibility is that the OP list of living, dead players, and the timeline is all bullcrap meant to throw us off, or perhaps an elaborate attempt at driving player engagement through confusion. Perhaps this is actually a vanilla mafia game and everyone has started out alive and such.
