I really just don't understand. I love vanilla. But every single time I eat chocolate ice cream, I can't come around to liking it. It just does not taste good to me. And I don't know why.

I love milk chocolate, but do not favor dark chocolate. I don't know what it is about chocolate ice cream that makes me dislike it so much. Does anyone share this debacle, or would know why there's such a difference to me? Mainly the differences between chocolate ice cream and regular chocolate, or if it's more closely related to the dislike of dark chocolate?

I feel kind of the same way about chocolate cake/brownies too. Sometimes it works, but most of the time I'm just completely turned off by it, and I don't know why.

Chocolate is amazing, dad goes to Germany for business trips and he brings home the chocolate from there (I'm not sure if it was made in Germany or Switzerland, dunno if anyone can clear this up for me :P) BEST. TASTING. THING. EVER. Oh god, it's a mouthgasm, it's so creamy and good.

I've noticed this too, chocolate ice cream is just... weird. But dark chocolate is a very different flavor (which I also don't like).

Chocolate, it depends on which brand. Some brands of chocolate suck, other brands of chocolate are ridiculously awesome.

I too was once under the mindset that vanilla was the best. That exciting flavor, the memories, everything about it was just awesome. That is until I discovered a new flavor, FRENCH VANILLA. This creamy pumped up vanilla was an expansion of sorts to the already great vanilla. It fixed the bad things about vanilla and made them good. The right amount of vanilla flavor with the right amount of density. The new flavors and options for all sorts of ice cream lovers is what makes french vanilla the best.

I like Vanilla in most regards as well. Darn those French, took so long to help during the Revolutionary War...I mean it's okay they stereotypically hate Americans, as long as they give me their damn ice cream and fries...

Yeah, I mean, what the heck? What IS it, if not supposed to taste like the chocolate we love? Someone please do an extensive study on this and my personal tastebuds, because honestly I can't make heads or tails of it. The only thing I'd guess is that it's just not related to chocolate in most senses.

Whenever someone has a birthday and the 2 layer chocolate/vanilla icecream cake comes out, I either desperately try to find someone who likes (ew) the chocolate part to give me their vanilla (if a girl, marry her?), or quickly destroy the chocolate to get it over with.

The thing with vanilla is you have to find real pure vanilla. The fake versions taste awful and are most of the reason it get a bad rap
