so about 2 and a half years ago i built my current PC. everything went pretty well
but now im looking to upgrade my PC. but when i say upgrade its pretty much an entirely new build. im replacing everything except the case, PSU, dvd drive, and the 1TB hard drive (im probably going to reuse the memory too)

my question: is there a way to upgrade all the hardware but still keep my data and programs on my hard drive? should i just get a smaller drive and copy everything onto it and reinstall windows 7 normally?
