I swear this idea of a emerald dream xpac comes up every 2 weeks.

This is the perpetual idea. The Emerald Dream isn't gonna happen. Blizz has waffled back and forth with the in-game files for nearly a decade, if we haven't seen it by now, we aren't gonna see it.

Next expansion will be burning legion related. Calling it now. I don't think we'll go back to Outland, rather I believe the story will revolve around Azeroth itself being invaded. Probably a new continent that acts as the "staging point" for the burning legion assault on Azeroth. New class? Some kind of demon hunter.
to all those who think there isn't enough content... just look at MoP. Blizzard just came up with a whole lot of lore, from nothing.
If they would just make it already, we wouldn't have to keep bringing it up.
Blizz has said it's a matter of when, not if.
Yeah, and to anyone who says 'aw, boring place, just more of Azeroth, hur', well... MoP is pretty much just more of that. And it's great.
If anything, the Emerald dream will play a role in a Azshara/Naga/South Seas expansion.
There is NO way it'll be entire expansion- the main plot of it was dealt with in Stormrage. The ending/source of the Nightmare was left open for a future plot, but not to return to the Nightmare.
Given how slow moving the game is, yes. Even with the much-accelerated pace of MoP, you're still waiting months to find out what happens next. I'm entirely ambivalent about ED to be honest. If the lore is resolved in the book, then fine. There are always outs, resets and other ways to make things happen. As an expansion, I think it's unlikely. As a patch within some future expansion including the usual raid and whatever, I'm a bit more optimistic.
"...money's most powerful ability is to allow bad people to continue doing bad things at the expense of those who don't have it."
Having azshara as a mid tier boss would cause outrage, she can more than carry her own expansion.
Would I like ED as an expansion, absolutely, do I think it will ever happen, most likely not. Though azshara and ED could be paired, dealing with Az is more the expansion I'd like to see, anything surrounding it is secondary .
Pfff don't care about the Emerald Dream. I wanto go to Argus and deal with the Burning Legion again.
99% of the dream was wrapped up in Stormrage.
The only part of it that remains is the Rift of Aln, which can fit into a Great Sea expansion instead as a raid.

As for the Emerald Dream, there are no plans for anything as of yet but it is a consideration for the future. The Emerald Dream opens up a lot of different opportunities and the Burning Crusade is definitely not going to be the last of the expansion packs. There are many different places and storylines that can be pursued. The story is going to keep growing and as it does so, people will get to experience it.
There was an interesting WoW Insider article about how Mists of Pandaria basically IS the Emerald Dream expansion:

I would want to visit the Emerald Dream some day, but I would not like to have it as an expansion of its own. I think it would make an excellent leveling/daily quest zone and a raid if the nightmare becomes a problem again. I know the place is huge, but what is in there? Just nature, endless nature untouched by mortals, nothing else. Only one part where the Nightmare is contained, and that would make a fine raid zone. But certainly not a whole expansion.
Emerald Nightmare and Sha both feeds about negative feelings due to the fact that they both come from an Old God - the Sha is the rest of Y'Shaarj, while the Emerald Nightmare is the creation of N'Zoth.
Everything can happen, N'Zoth's servants can "swarm" and invade the Emerald Kalimdor in order to control it and to destroy any chance of curing Azeroth from the Old Gods since the Emerald Dream is the "pattern" for Azeroth, which can be used to reset Azeroth.I would want to visit the Emerald Dream some day, but I would not like to have it as an expansion of its own. Now that Ysera has lost here aspect powers, I feel that the Nightmare could come back. The overgrowth quest chain in southern barrens shows that it is still a problem and when we escort Fandral through the dream in Hyjal it is noted that the Nightmare had spread to that part of the Dream too.
Well this would all make sense but i hope it will not be an expansion and just patch content......maybe mid patch content. After 3 expansions without demons, i finally want to see the burning legion again!
Anyways, finally the storyline of neptulon should be continued and another underwater layer is always a good thing.
There are a few issues with Making the emerald dream an expansion, rather than a zone or an instance.
Off the top of my head...
1. How do you make classes other than druids feel like they matter and aren't out of place?
2. How do you have faction bases in an ephemeral plane where there aren't really resources or whatever to dig up or build or obtain?

The next expansion is totally about a carrot-shaped Old God named Carrot'thun enthralling Virmen whom in turn invade Azeroth by digging tunnels into all arable land of Azeroth and stealing all the vegetables.
